Creative Communications - Fact Sheet

Overview
Creative Communications is a two-year diploma program that prepares students
for the world of journalism, public relations, advertising, and media production.
With access to industry experienced instructors, media production TV studio, radio
station, and many more tools, this program gives students the skills to obtaining a
career in communications.
Students will obtain skills in creative writing, photography, layout, marketing, design,
and social media. In addition, students also have the opportunity to gain work
experience through the programs mandatory two three-week work placements.

How to Apply
Who should apply?
Not all programs are the perfect
fit for everyone. Everyone has
different goals. Future Creative
Communications students have
the following skills:

Submit an application

Write the test

You have the option to apply


online or via paper. Online
application is the quickest way
to apply. Online applications
require a credit card for
the application fee. Paper
applications can be submitted
to the Student Service Centre in
the Exchange District Campus.

If youve passed the application


process, the next step is to
write a test that will test your
reading comprehension, writing
skills, and general knowledge
of world events. This test is
written at a scheduled time at
the Exchange District Campus.

Go to the interview
If youve passed the
written test and take-home
assignment, you will
be contacted for an
interview. This is the
chance for instructors to get to
know you better.
After the interview, you will be
sent a letter indicating whether
youve been accepted into the
program.

Do the assignment
After youve written your test,
youll receive a take-home
assignment package. In this
package, youll be required
to write a photo essay, two
short writing assignments, an
updated resume, and a work
portfolio.
