Title Club sitter
Abstract A support and alignment implement for supporting an article such as a golf club in an upright or
elevated position comprises of a unibody one piece triangular shaped structure, each end of the
x201c;ux201d; shaped portion of the unibody having a round saucer shaped foot to contacts the
ground. A pair of arms extend from the center portion that form a tripod and acts as leaf springs
to create spring pressure. The legs get crossed over each other to create an opposing force on
two heads located at the top of the unibody structure. These two heads are held closed and in
contact with one another. One head contains a multi-side locking chamber, which in this design is
a square slot that traps the shaft of the club without clamping it. The other head has a flat surface
which with the leaf spring pressure of the opposing arms acts like a door that closes the opening
of the square slot. In operation the operator squeezes the leaf spring arms towards each other
and inserts the golf shaft into the slot, then releases the arms to allow the door to trap the club
shaft into the square slot. The round feet are placed on the ground with the golf club in an upright
position on the green for support or any where on the course for alignment.

Title High speed casting of a golf ball layer
Abstract A method of casting a cover layer about a golf ball core utilizing a single cavity mold that moves
on a continuous conveyor, and the cover layers are cast without any x201c;stop and gox201d; or
batch methods being involved. The continuous motion conveyor system is a closed loop system
that provides for the automatic pre-heating of top and bottom mold halves and the depositing of a
core into the bottom mold halve after a layer material such as urethane has been dispensed into
the molds by an articulating module comprising of a plurality of dispensing nozzles. The nozzles
translate in a tangential motion with the moving conveyor and dispense the cover material without
any stoppage of the conveyor line. The method then assembles the mold halves into a single
cavity mold without the use of bolts, but only employing clamping pins that use spring force for
compression, and releasable retainers to lock the mold for the curing stage, and then unlocking
he mold for the disassembling and product removal.

Title Device for automatic indexing of a golf ball
Abstract The present invention is directed to a magnetic indexing device that can be connected to a
conveyor, the device firmly holding a golf ball in a particular orientation for the purposes of printing
of indicia and logo on the ball when device and ball move along the conveyor. The device includes
a stationary base portion and a rotating cup portion which are magnetically coupled to each other.
Each portion has recesses for housing magnets to create a magnetic field of attraction which firmly
locks the two portions together. When rotation of the cup portion to the base portion is required,
the rotation is substantially friction-free because of a thrust bearing ring set in the base portion.
The cup portion is caused to rotate 45xb0; or 90xb0; upon being biasly urged by station locks
located on the conveyor. The cup portion has an open bridge section wherein cam surfaces of
the station locks can engage and cause the cup portion to rotate, which is necessary for each
new procedure, whether it be inspection of the ball, pad printing of indicia and logo, or curing the
printed ink with ultraviolet light.

Title High speed golf ball core molding
Abstract A method of molding a golf ball core utilizing a single cavity mold that moves on a continuous
conveyor system wherein heated preps are automatically and individually taken directly from the
extruder and robotically placed into a bottom mold half that is integral with and moves along
a conveyor at a speed consistent with the output from the extruder. This eliminates the prep’s
inefficient loss of heat during storage that is associated with the batch process. The method
provides preheating each top and bottom mold half in separate conveyor ovens to about 350xb0;
F. prior to the prep being loaded into the bottom mold half. After the prep is loaded, the top
and bottom mold halves are assembled to create the single cavity mold. The single cavity mold
compresses the prep into a spherical core shape by utilizing spring force and retainer plates to
exert about 384 lbs of force. The core is then moved by conveyor into a convection oven wherein
the core is cured to a temperature of about 350xb0; F. The cores are then robotically removed
from the mold and transferred to a site wherein an intermediate or cover layer is placed over it.

Title Method and device for automated electronic green speed measurement
Abstract Method and apparatus for measuring the coefficient of rolling friction or speed of a horizontal
surface over which a round object is rolled such as a putting green encountered in the game of
golf. The method includes a device for launching a ball across the surface at a constant and
consistent velocity. An included timing device is triggered to start counting the elapsed time
when the ball exits the launching device and continues counting until the ball has decelerated
to a stop. At the instant the ball ceases moving the timer is triggered to terminate the count.
The time required for a body with a specific velocity to come to rest after experiencing constant
deceleration is determined by the laws of motion. The coefficient of friction or x201c;speedx201d;
of the green which is proportional to the amount of deceleration may then be calculated. This time
measurement is therefore sufficient to determine the speed of the green surface which may be
reported as an equivalent x201c;stimpx201d; value.

Title Impact energy powered golf ball transmitter
Abstract Electrical power can be generated from impact based energy, such as from a golf ball being
struck by a golf club. One or more piezo-electric devices, which are embedded in the core of the
golf ball, are stressed by the impact and generate energy. Each piezo-electric device generates
energy when stressed, which is then rectified and stored in a capacitor circuit. The stored energy
in the capacitor circuit is used to power a transmitter to emit energy via an antenna, including all
necessary electronics such as an oscillator, a modulator, and various control and logic circuits.
The transmitted signals can be received by a hand held locator device. The described impact
generated energy powers the transmitter a sufficiently long amount of time for the golfer to locate
the golf ball. The impact based energy generation can also be used for other non-golf applications.
