Annexes contain SARPs (Standards and Recommended Practives) which the various countries adopt as the framework for their legislation. There are 18 (annex 1 to annex 18).
The "Standards" contained in the Annexes to the Chicago convention are to be considered binding for the member states that have not notified ICAO about a national difference.
Deviations must be reported to ICAO for publication in a supplement to Annex concerned.
