 Look up the word DETERMINATION
 Once you have found the meaning, answer the following
question in at least five (5) sentences:
○ In the last six months, identify one area in your life that
you have displayed DETERMINATION and experienced its
outcome. I have had determination in doing my
homework and making sure that I do really well in
school. I have been keeping up with all of my work
from school really well and I am determined to get
good grades. So far it has been going really well and
I have been doing all of my homework and have
been getting good grades.

Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” Learning Task One
 Individual Learners are to pull-up their electronic version of
“Romeo and Juliet”
 Individually read Act One: Scene Three
 Write an eight (8) sentence Synopsis (a brief summary) of Scene
Three (20 pts.)
Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” Learning Task Two
 Each learner is to identify four (4) specific examples or quotes
from “Romeo and Juliet” Act One: Scenes One through Three
 Analyze and explain how each example or quote defines
DETERMINATION through the characters and their relationships
and the action that takes place (20 pts.)
Lady capulet talks to Juliet about her getting married to
Paris and they discuss that she is too young. Lady capulet
does say though that soon she will be able to marry Paris.
The Nurse makes funny comments about Paris and Susan.
Juliet says that it would be an honor to marry Paris and
that she wants to marry him.

Benvolio tells Romeo that he wants to come with him
because he is determined to find out what is wrong.

Benvolio is still trying to discover who is making Romeo
depressed.
4. I’ll pay that doctrine or else die in your debt.
Benvolio is determined to make Romeo happy.

They have grown and are making more money and
moving up in the economic standard.

It has a lot of oil.

Hungary is more liberal than those countries.

Estonia, Lativa, and Lithuania.

Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia?
They have been attacked by the Soviet Union and been
caught in the middle of wars before.
11.How did economic concerns contribute to civil war in the
Balkans?
The economic concerns were bad and many people
wanted to change that so out of fear that people would
not be able to have a good life there was a civil war for a
better life.
12.Which river flows through Poland’s capital?
The Vistula
13.In Russia, which city is farther north, St. Petersburg or Moscow?
St. Petersburg
14.How do location and climate affect ecosystems in Russia?
In Russia the climate makes very drastic changes so
unless the animals and plants that live in a particular
ecosystem can adapt very quickly they will most likely
die.
15.In 2014, what special event is going to be hosted in Sochi,
Russia?
The Olympics.

harder to travel throughout Russia.

They started a revolution because they did not want the
Soviet Union in charge of all of Russia.
18.How did the end of Communist rule lead to changes in Russia?
It changed Russia because now their economy is better
and people have more rights. This makes people more
happy in Russia and have an overall better life.
