 Look up the word DETERMINATION
 Once you have found the meaning, answer the following
question in at least five (5) sentences:
○ In the last six months, identify one area in your life that
you have displayed DETERMINATION and experienced its
outcome.
The last time I experienced determination was about
3 months ago. The determination I displayed was
finishing my football season. I had to finish being with
the Corona Chargers midget division. I had to learn
that I couldn’t just quit. I play through the entire
season and came out better then before.

Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” Learning Task One
 Individual Learners are to pull-up their electronic version of
“Romeo and Juliet”
 Individually read Act One: Scene Three
 Write an eight (8) sentence Synopsis (a brief summary) of Scene
Three (20 pts.)
Scene 3 of Romeo and Juliet is about Lady Capulet wanting to
find Juliet. Lady Capulet calls the nurse to help her when Juliet
comes in. Lady Capulet wants to talk to Juliet about marriage.
She gets cut off when the nurse talks about a joke Juliet told
that got her in trouble. After that Lady Capulet tries to explain
to Juliet that she wants her to become married. They begin to
talk and Lady Capulet says that she was Juliet’s age when she
got married so it was time for her. When they were close to the
end of their time talking a servant walks in. He tells them that
the feast is about to begin. So they start head down to the
feast.

 Each learner is to identify four (4) specific examples or quotes
from “Romeo and Juliet” Act One: Scenes One through Three
 Analyze and explain how each example or quote defines
DETERMINATION through the characters and their relationships
and the action that takes place (20 pts.)
The Examples of determination:
1. Montague persisted on knowing Romeo’s problem
2. Lady Capulet was determined to get Juliet married
3. The servant wanted to know who was going to the party
so he went to Romeo to find out.
4. Benvolio tried to convince Romeo to go to the party and
have fun.

Because it pushed the eastern border so it became closer to

5. How have political and economic conditions in the Czech


Republic changed since the 1980’s?
Because they decided to be less hostel and to grow and to be
partners with Japan.

6. How have Romania’s economic activities changed since the end


of Communist rule?
The economy has changed by taking out communism. Since
then the economy has grown and has been making and
improvement on their univesities.

7. What natural resources have given Hungary an advantage in


establishing itself as an independent nation? The natural
resources given to them were wheat, sunflower seeds,
potatoes, sugar, pigs, cattle, and dairy products which
allowed them to be more stable and have more
production.

8. How does Hungary differ from the Czech and Slovak republics?
Their different because of the government and that they have
different borders to keep different things away.

9. List the Baltic States and border Nations.


The Baltic states are Estonia, Lativa, and Lithuania.

10.How has location affected the history and economies of the


Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia? The location
has made it easier to ship items around.

The concerns made it harder financially to give support.

14.How do location and climate affect ecosystems in Russia?


In Russia it can be very cold so the animals that live there are
mostly resistant to that. It is sometimes hard for the animals
to get the proper food to find because of the weather.

Russia?
In 2014 the special event is the Olympic and Paralympic
games.

16.What line of longitude runs through the Ural Mountains and how
have they affected Russia?
It runs through 80 degrees east longitude. It is very cold there.

17.Why did the Russian people start a revolution in 1917?


The revolution was to have independence in Russia and to
claim more land. Also to end communism.

18.How did the end of Communist rule lead to changes in Russia?


Because the people could start to rebuild there life and to stop
the evil reign of the dictators.
