Lesson 22: Body Parts of Animals for Food Getting/ Eating


I. Objectives: Infer that animals have different body structures in getting or eating their food.
Develop love and care for animals.
Perform in the group activities related to different body structures of animals
used in getting or eating their food.

III. Learning Tasks
A. Engagement :
1. Review: Identify the body coverings on the board. Call three pupils to identify the
picture. Paste the pictures of different animals on the body covering where they belong.

B. Exploration:
1. Recall the standards in doing the activity.

What are the things you should remember while doing an activity?
2. Divide the class into four groups. Each group should choose a leader.
3. Let each group do Lesson 22: LM Activity 1 How Animals Get/Eat their Food?. Give
the pupils 5 minutes to do this.
4. Tell each group to post the finished work in front and be ready to report their outcome in
class.
C. Explanation:
1. Let the pupils report their outputs by groups. (Teacher may encourage the pupils to report their
work in varied ways.)
2. Tell the pupils to explain their group output and give more examples of these animals.
3. Further discuss the activities/lesson using the following guide questions:
What is the food of the each animal you have? Describe the kind of food of each animal.
What are the different body structures of animals for getting/eating food? Do they have
the same way of getting their food?
Why do animals have different body parts for getting/eating food?
4. Sum up the lesson by completing the sentence below.

because the mosquito bit you. What body part did the mosquito use to suck the blood
from your skin?
3. You are living in a farm. Your father told you to let the goats eat grass in the field. What

Picture of animals ( hawk and chicken, snake and mouse) , chart, glue
