Subject: Job Application for the Geophysicist (Exploration)
Dear Sir,
In my efforts to earn employment with your organization, I am writing this letter to express
my interest and highlight my skills and qualifications. In reading my resume, I believe you will
find my qualifications and attributes make me a very suitable candidate for employment. I am
working in Geofizyka Krakow S.A Pakistan Branch (seismic data acquisition and processing)
Crew 3P since June, 2012.
I graduated from a reputable University with distinction (Cum laude) and have been placed
amongst top students of my class. During my postgraduate degree, I did my research in the
field of basin analysis and sequence stratigraphy of carbonate. I get in depth knowledge of
seismic interpretation of offshore data as well as the structural modeling and restoration in
order to reach my target. Therefore, I am also well aware with the use of industry standard
seismic and GIS software for mapping of ocean floor with 2D & 3D seismic data, gravity and
bathymetry data. The major outcomes of my research are in the process of publishing in local
and international peer reviewed journals.
Upon joining your organization, I promise to take challenges and deal with them with the best
use of my knowledge while assisting in effectively carrying out the department's functions.
Attached is my resume where you will find my academic and career history in detail.
I greatly appreciate your consideration for employment and I look forward to further
discussing my qualifications in person. I may be reached at any time through Skype or
telephone provided above in order to discuss my profile or schedule an appointment for
interview. Thanks again for your time and consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Khurram Shahzad
