Academic Statement of Purpose

Benjamin Michael Doyle

Masters of Business Administration/ Masters of Science in Information
Dear Gentle-person:
As digital media developer I gained professional experience with Gannett at the IndyStar. While there, I
employed Adobe CS4 (including: Acrobat, Flash InDesign, Photoshop and, Illustrator) to further advertising campaigns online. I secured a new university account from Belhaven University Collegea one year
subscription to our marketing campaigns and commercial ads, (I was acknowledged in a personal e-mail
me for this success).
I was also interning with Oranje all the while. As an artist liaison, brand ambassador, advertising, marketing and, promotions intern, I have gained hands on experience organizing Oranje Indy 2011. At Oranje, I
managed artists, advertisements, e-mails and, event lists. As a result of my involvement and, $20 a head, 500
people plus capacity, profit margins increased considerablyticket sales exceeded expectations an excess of
$10k, (not including VIPs).
As an alumnus from Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences, traveling from South Bend, IN where
I studied in prefinearts at the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Fine arts, fine arts studies at the Henry
Radford Hope School of Fine Arts in Bloomington and, finally the Herron School of Art, I completed my
degree through Indiana University on an inter-campus transfer consortium agreement at Indianapolis, December of 2012.
I am pursuing continuing education and a masters of arts & design in interdisciplinary studies degree: an
undergraduate at Indiana University I majored in Fine Art Studio Art, Arts & Humanities; while minoring
in Social & Historical Art/Design History, contemporary conservation and criticism colloquium in independent studies. With the exception of my cumulative GPA, I have maintained a 3.012 concentrating in
focus and specializing in minor related coursework.
As an alum from Indiana University with independent studies in interdisciplinary arts: I have completed
a number of topics classes such as: Architecture for the Planet Earth; Civilization & Discontents; Computer
Art: Survey & Practice; Design for Public Spaces; Intensive Writing; Research, Reporting, Writing & Editing
and, Photojournalism at the Indiana Daily Student IDS as well as, Intro to Computers & Computing and
such as the like for a more contemporary bachelors degree.
Throughout the duration of my senior year in my undergraduate course career I began to take an interest
in architecture, graphical user interfacing and computer science. Though my interests are wide and varied,
I aim to concentrate my focus on information technology and, software programming or, specializing in
web developmentan undergrad degree in community informatics was unavailable.. I expect to continue
studying for a masters degree in Human Computer Interaction.
I matriculated a sum total of 150 credits, registering an excess of 30 extra credit hours in: Advanced Color
Photography, Design History: 1880 to Present, Into Interactive Media Design, Site Specificity and Contemporary Art, Telecommunications Production Techniques and Practices. And have since completed my first
bachelors in fine arts degree finishing my final course of study as an undergraduate to satisfy my curiosity
and narrow down my most specific interests.
I am intent on conducting independent study at a university concentrating my focus in a specific topic of
interest: information technology, computer science, web development; and, community informatics as it
relates to graphical user interfacing in user experience and, interaction designI aim to pursue continuing
development of my professional portfolio with a duel degree Grassroots Computing and Community Informatics specializing in Human Computer Interaction Design engineering platforms for Social Computing.
Respectfully,
