Thank you for agreeing to serve as an advisory member to Hep B United, a national coalition to address the public health challenge of hepatitis B, the leading cause of liver cancer and a major health disparity among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Hep B United was established in January 2012 and is co-chaired by the Hepatitis B Foundation and the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO). The coalition has now grown to include over 30 community-based coalition members, national organizations, community health centers, as well as academic and federal agency partners. Our goal is to support and leverage the success of local community coalitions across the U.S. to increase hepatitis B awareness, screening, vaccination and linkage to care for all Americans, and in particular, for high-risk Asian American and Pacific Islander populations. We look forward to working with you to strengthen our national coalition and further our collective goals to raise the profile of hepatitis B and liver cancer as an urgent public health priority, and to improve access to care and treatment for individuals living with hepatitis B to prevent end-stage liver disease and liver cancer. Your expertise will be an asset to Hep B United, and we look forward to you joining our coalition. We are also confident that you will find the Hep B United network fulfilling and beneficial. Thank you again for your partnership! If you have any questions, please contact Kate.Moraras@hepb.org. Sincerely,
Chari Cohen Director of Public Health Hepatitis B Foundation
