TIVERTON EAST PARCEL

VILLAGE
The Village district is centered on an urban square and offers a variety of housing types and commercial space. The square is fronted
by the 25,000 SF Tiverton Library and helps to foster a village atmosphere. The Square itself can be used for a weekly farmers market
and will become a community center.

AGRICULTURAL
Local food production is a priority for many New England towns, including Tiverton. Agricultural preservation and expansion is not only
a link to Tivertons past, but a bridge to its future. Farmsteads, Tilapia
Aquaculture, and hand tended gardening are preferred in this area.

UTILITY
The Utility district is where true technological innovation is allowed to
flourish. Various alternative enegry sources are employed and well as
new water treatment and power storage technology. This will help set
the scene for a newer more energy efficient Tiverton.

FARMS UNDER 2 ACRES


These small lot farms allow families to engage in meaningful high
intensity food production on a smaller lot. Hand tended produce can
produce large yields on small lots using no tractors or fossil fuel burning equipment.

2-4 ACRE FARMS


These plots still allow a majority of hand tended produce with oppurtunity for some larger scale crop integrations, permaculture, and
livestock.

FARMS OVER 4 ACRES


These larger farms are still small by comparison to standard farm
sizes, but above 4 acres hand tending becomes more difficult and
the family farm becomes more of a primary business than a supplemental activity seen on smaller lots.

WIND POWER DIAGRAM

Each 2.5 MW wind turbine has a clear zone requirement


around its base with a radius of 417 feet.
This leaves several acres available to the installation
of solar collectors.

The DuraTrack Array system tracks the sun automatically and is capable of tilting every panel from 0 to 90
degrees to maximize power output.
The standard panel height is 4.
Each Wind-Solar complex will be capable of generating 2.5 MW from wind and 1.5 MW from the solar array,
bringing total power production to 4 MW per complex.

STAFFORD SHORE VILLAGE
The Village on Stafford Pond is centered on the large campus complex and
many of its functions are dedicated to the operation of whatever institution(s)
inhabit the buildings. The small mixed use plaza at the center is concieved
to offer synergistic office and restaurant space to suit the needs of a large
institutional population. The large proportion of Single-Family homes, narrow
elm-lined streets, and quaint chapel recall a seaside New England town;
appropriate given its location adjacent to Stafford Pond. The surrounding
woods will contain various walking trails and even a small campground all in
view of the lake. Open areas of Paving will be minimized in this area, relying
on pervious surfaces for roads and parking areas. This will reduce runoff and
further protect the fragile environment of Stafford Pond.

STAFFORD SHORE CAMPUS


The campus buildings at Stafford are not only beautiful, but will provide one
of the cornerstone employment draws to the area. Whether a corporate,
medical, or educational tenant takes up residence, the structures can adapt
to service them. With just over 190,000 SF of space, the complex has the
possibility to harbor hundreds of jobs. Inspired by the architecture of Saint
Georges School in Newport RI, the complex will be a landmark enhancing,
rather than marring Stafford Ponds beauty. The buildings open from the village plaza to a shaded quadrangle and front a large lawn sloping to meet
the shore of the pond. Parking will be contained inside a disguised and lined
structure, to eliminate unsightly parking lots. It is the hope that many professionals will be enticed to move nearby, so the campus provides a bicycle
garage, and locker-room to promote cycle commuting. As with all buildings
in Stafford, the campus will have a LEED platinum rating.
