RELATIONSHIPS MATTER

Relationships built through combined exercises

and events allow an early capability instead
of forced entry capability. We will never fight
alone - our most reliable and capable allies are
in Europe.

TRUST MATTERS

Army forces in Europe assure and reassure

our allies through presence. Army Europe has
nurtured mutual trust in Europe over seven
decades.

LOCATION MATTERS

U.S. Army Europe is uniquely positioned in its 51

country area of responsibility to advance American
strategic interests in Europe and Eurasia.
The relationships we build during more than 1,000
theater security cooperation events in more than
40 countries each year lead directly to support for
multinational contingency operations around the
world, strengthen regional partnerships and enhance global security.

REGIONALLY ALIGNED FORCES

OPERATION ATLANTIC RESOLVE

AIR DEFENSE

Army Europe empowers the ARMYS REGIONALLY ALIGNED FORCES

CONCEPT by facilitating Reception, Staging, Onward Movement and Integration
for CONUS-based forces. This ensures seamless integration into multinational
exercises with allied and partner nations.

Operation Atlantic Resolve is a demonstration of the United States COMMITMENT

TO NATO, and to the nations collective defense responsibilities. Army Europe
supports Operation Atlantic Resolve through expanded land force training in
eastern Europe.

Army Europe provides Regionally Aligned Forces a LEADERSHIP LABORATORY

by integrating Soldiers into multinational units and staffs to gain valuable broadening
experiences while conducting joint multinational operations.

In response to Russias destabilizing actions

in Ukraine, Army Europe began deploying
company-sized contingents to Estonia, Latvia,
Lithuania and Poland on a continuous rotational
basis in April 2014. The rotations express the
United States unwavering commitment to
fulfilling its Article 5 obligations. The rotations
are scheduled to continue for the foreseeable
future along NATOS EASTERN FLANK.

THE FORWARD POSTURE AND ADAPTABILITY of Army Europes 10th Army Air
and Missile Defense Command enables U.S. and NATO Patriot missile counterparts
to increase air defense interoperability and capability in an expeditionary
environment. Joining other U.S. Patriot missile units and those from Germany, the
Netherlands and Spain, the 10th AAMDC helps protect millions of citizens along
Turkeys border with Syria.

Army Europe maintains the EUROPEAN ACTIVITY SET, a forward-located

equipment set of tanks and other mechanized vehicles. It allows U.S. regionally
aligned forces to train and operate with
equipment that is pre-positioned in Europe.
Maintaining readiness and enhancing
interoperability are focal points for Army
Europes MULTINATIONAL EXERCISE
PROGRAM. Combined Resolve, Saber
Strike, and Rapid Trident are among the
many exercises that provide an opportunity
for U.S.-based Army forces to ENGAGE with
and train alongside NATO allies and partners
across Europe.

The training and presence are in addition

to previously scheduled multinational land
force military exercises in the region such as
Combined Resolve in Germany, Saber Strike in
the Baltic region, Rapid Trident in Ukraine, and
Saber Guardian in Bulgaria.
ARABIAN GULF

These exercises establish tactical, technical,

personal and professional connections
that develop the Armys expeditionary and
coalition-building capacities as they REASSURE European allies, increase NATO
readiness and interoperability and maintain collective security in the region.
