Many people attended Georges funeral shows that a lot of people care
about him and acknowledge his efforts and the work that he accomplished
as a professor.

George was negligent to his daughter, Ana, but she still stood up to
support and englighten the audience about his life. This shows that even
though George may have some negatives, people still stand up for him.

Duffy was Georges best friend and is always there for George, even when
he is dead. This highlights the strength of the bond that they formed with
each other and the amount of mutual respect they had for each other.

This was a period of time where university education was shifting from
teaching students to teaching customers in a corporate business. It was a
time of social change and George wanted to keep university education as
classical as it can be.

Lindsay gets an accreditation as professor, possibly showing that he had a

relationship with that of someone who had the same profession, as a
professor and could attempt to connect on levels such as philosophy but
as well as their sexual intentions etc

The george-lindsay relationship was formed because George viewed

Lindsay as an intellectual equal but in the end they broke up also because
of intellectual reasons - George was keen on keeping the language (latin?)
institute while Lindsay wanted to capitalise on her rising status to form a
different institute which would appeal to customers.

Reference to Che Guevara an influential character of the time. Shows

George and Lindsay as both being revolutionists who were a perfect fit
when there ideals were the same but when their views started to change,
their ideas clashed with each other (Lindsay started to become hardcore
feminist and too stubborn for George) and this was the downfall of their
relationship.

For Beatrix they both supported each other's ideals at the beginning with
Beatrix moving to Paris to do art school and George going with her but
after a while she got pissed because George was criticising her ability to
see things as an artist but wasn't doing jack shit on his essay that he said
he was going to do, so from there that relationship started to crumble as
well.

George is a very thirsty person whose life was dictated by being

magnificent and being able to fuck. This is portrayed through his
determination to become an influential professor and also his womanising
ways. Georges lust for sex and passion for education were the main
reasons why he formed the relationships with his three wives or ex-wives.
