ZERO CONDITIONAL

The conditional 0 is conditional used to express situations or facts that are true and are always fulfilled,
so they are universal truths. It is used to describe scientific or general facts indicating a condition and
an outcome, they expressed in two sentences, the condition and consequence.
The conditional grammatical construction 0 begin with the word If (if conditional), before this simple
prayer that establishes the condition, followed by a simple prayer also present that is the result given to
the situation in question. Prayer is still universal to reverse the order of prayers, that is to say, when the
result is written first and then the condition. You can have the structure If ... then ... (if ... then ...),
although often not the "then" used to indicate the consequent
STRUCTURE OF THE CONDITIONAL 0:

FORM 1

: IF + PRESENT SIMPLE (CONDITION) + THEN + PRESENT SIMPLE (RESULT)

FORM 2

IF + PRESENT SIMPLE (CONDITION) + PRESENT SIMPLE (RESULT)

FORM 3

PRESENT SIMPLE (RESULT) + IF + PRESENT SIMPLE (CONDITION)

FEATURES:
Conditional type 0 is used to make statements about the real world and often refers to general facts
that we take for certain, as scientific facts. In these prayers the time frame is now or ever and the
situation is real and possible
EXAMPLES

If you freeze water, it becomes a solid.

Plants die if they do not get enough water.
If my husband has a cold, usually I catch it.
If public transport is efficient, people stop using their cars.
If you mix red and blue, you get purple.

The zero conditional also often used to give instructions and, in this case, the verb of the main clause is
imperative

Ask Pete if you're not sure what to do.
If you want to come, call me before 5:00.

If you jump from the tenth floor you die. (Si saltas desde el dcimo piso te mueres).
If you jump from the tenth floor, then you die.
You die if you jump from the tenth floor.
If you run 10 km per hour it takes you ten hours to run 100 km. (Si corres a 10 Km por hora tardas 10
horas en recorrer 100 km).
If you run 10 km per hour, then it takes you ten hours run 100 km.
It takes you ten hours run 100 km if you run 10 km per hour.
If you add two plus two the outcome is always four. (Si sumas dos ms dos el resultado es siempre
cuatro)
If you add two plus two, then the outcome is four.
