Dear Colleagues
Thanks for helping to lead this challenging process of ranking journals on behalf of BARDSNet
and the Australian Business Deans Council.
For your information, the Association of Industrial Relations Academics of Australia and New
Zealand (AIRAANZ) is the peak organisation representing academics in Industrial Relations
/Employment Relations/Human Resources. AIRAANZ represents a significant group of
academics with our own substantial conferences, symposia and journal. See: www.airaanz.org
AIRAANZ hereby indicates that it is one of the signatories to this submission and wishes to
offer its strong support for an increase in the 2013 ABDC rating for this journal.
Please let us know if you have any questions or would like any clarification of AIRAANZs
concern and proposal. Thanks.
Yours sincerely
Dr Sarah Kaine
Hon Secretary, AIRAANZ
Management Discipline Group
UTS Business School
IJM has a SSCI Impact Factor of 0.562, which places it as 17th out of 23 journals in SSCIs Industrial
Relations and Labor category (third quartile) and 133rd of 168 journals in the Management category
(fourth quartile). Industrial Relations Journal was ranked in the 2010 ABDC list as a rank A in FoR
1503, yet it is not on SSCI and does not have an Impact Factor. Therefore, by this token IJM deserves
to be on the ABDC 2013 list as a rank A journal.
