ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Established in 1993, with an intake of 60 students for the program in Electrical &
Electronics Engg, the department now offers UG Program in Electrical & Electronics
Engg with a sanctioned intake of 66 students. Highly qualified staff and skilled
supporting staff, dedicated to work are strength of department. The department has
well equipped laboratories and research facilities. It is constantly modernizing the
laboratory facilities with latest technology and research know-how. The department
has been actively involved in research and consultancy works in all the fields of
Electrical Engg. The EEE dept has its own department library with more
than 300 titles and 20 IS (Indian Standard) codes. The department has an
active association which successfully organizes technical fest IGNISTA
every year and other events.

2.3.3 Association activities
All the students of ECE department are members of ECE Association.
In 2011 a one day technical program -OPMAAK- was conducted. An
open house exhibition of working models was conducted, permitting
students from various schools to visit the campus.
2.3.4 Tech Riders
Along with academic curriculum several non academic activities are
organized for developing the technical skills of students. A Robotic club
and a hobby club were inaugurated in 2011.
2.4
COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in
the year 1993 and in the same year itself department has started offering
4 year B.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering with
an intake of 60. From this academic year onwards the department offers
M.Tech programme in Computer Science and Information Security. The
major strength of the department is highly qualified and experienced
faculty with specialization in main areas of computer science and
engineering and information technology. The number of intake for B.
Tech is increased to 90 from 2008 admissions. State-of-the-art facilities
are available in all the labs to train the students capable of meeting the
requirements of present and future. The Computer Science and
Engineering Department has constantly produced many university rank
holders. Department has close interaction with various leading industries
and educational institutions. Department conducts many value added
training programs to the students and staff frequently.

The department was established in the year 2008. The department offers
B.Tech programme in Civil Engineering with an intake of 63 students.
The department has good academic excellence including the university

AMENITIES
5.1 CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY
Co-operative Society LBS College of Engineering Co-Operative Society
Ltd. S-219 was established in 1995 and is functioning in the
administrative block. Co-operative Society caters to the needs of the
students and staff of this College. The society supplies text books, note
books, drawing instruments, surveying instruments, uniform materials,
Syllabus, Lab Records, Various forms, Registers and other stationary
articles needed for the students and staff with discount rates. Besides
this, the college canteen is also being run by the Co-operative Society.
5.2 HOSTEL
The college provides hostel facilities for boys and girls with capacity 562
and 349 respectively. There are six hostels managed by LBSCE, out of
which one boys hostel and one girls hostel are within the campus and the
remaining are off campus hostels. Separate hostels are available for
first year students. All the hostels are provided with mess facilities. Mess
dividing system is followed in all the hostels. The elected mess committee
in each hostel manages the functioning of mess. The hostel inmates are
expected to follow the hostel rules strictly and as directed by warden
and resident tutors. The Hostels are headed by the Warden assisted by
the Resident Tutors. Mr. Vinod George, Associate Professor, CSED is
the warden.
5.2.1 HOSTEL RULES AND GUIDE LINES
1.
Allotment to various hostels shall be only for the students/staff
members of the institute.
2.
Priority for admission will be given to students based on the
distance from their home town.
3.
No students with unsatisfactory background such as involvement
in criminal cases will be given admission to hostels.
4.
Room allotment shall be carried out by the Resident Tutor/warden.
5.
Allotment given to the inmates is for a minimum period of one
year.
6.
Inmates vacating the hostel before completion of one year will
have to pay the establishment charge for twelve months. However,
inmates vacating the hostel on course completion are exempted
from this.

ROAD SAFETY CLUB
In order to create awareness on road traffic aspects and to educate
road users about traffic rules, traffic regulations and other related matters
a road safety club is formulated and working actively within the campus.
By conducting classes and photo exhibitions by experts from the motor
vehicles department, the club develops skill among the students for taking
appropriate action in various traffic situations. The club also works as
volunteer forum for aiding trauma care activities and assist in enforcement
of traffic rules. Mr. Kishor Kumar V V, Asst. Professor in Mechanical
Engineering is the Secretary of the club.

The DEbate & LITErary club (DELITE) had started in the college in
December, 2006, with an aim to nurture the literary activities in the college.
At present Mr. Dileep V.K, Asst. Professor in Computer Science &
Engineering is the Staff Co-Ordinator of the club.

Candidates for admission to the B.Tech. Degree course shall be required
to have passed the higher secondary/+2/XII Std. examination conducted

9. DRESS CODE
1.
All students should dress modestly when in the campus.
2.
Boys should tuck in their shirts and they should wear a black
coloured belt of width 2.5 cm.
3.
For girls, the length of their shirt should be up to wrist of their
hands, when they stand straight.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
10.2 M.TECH
1. The candidate shall be an Indian national.
2. The candidate should have studied the undergraduate course in
an institution approved by the AICTE/Deemed Universities.
3. Candidates applying for M.Tech-Thermal and Fluid Engineering
should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mechanical
Engineering/Mechanical stream Automobile engineering/Mechanical
stream Production Engineering degree examinations
or
equivalent. For SC/ST candidates a pass in the
Mecha nical
Engineering / Mechanical stream Automobile
engineering/
Mechanical stream Production Engineering degree examinations
or equivalent course is sufficient.
4. Candidates applying for M.Tech-Computer Science and Information
Security should have 60% marks in Computer Science and
Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics and
Communication /Applied Electronics.
5. Candidates applying for M.Tech-VLSI Design and Signal Processing
should have 60% marks in Electronics and C o m m u n i c a t i o n
Engineering/Applied Electronics/Electrical and Communication
Engineering.
6. Candidates who have appeared for the final semester examination
can also apply, provided he/ she has passed all the subjects up to
and including the 6th semester exam. Such candidates
