Preamble
The Marching Band is one of four bands within the Muskingum Band Program.
The Band serves as a vehicle of support at home football games. Design and
leadershipisstudentdirected.
I.
Membership
A. Open to any Muskingum student that can or is willing to play an instrument or
performinthecolorguard.
II.
ExecutiveBoard
A. The Executive Board will be comprised of: President, Vice President,
Secretary/Treasurer,andtheDirectorofBands
B. DutiesoftheOfficers
i. President
: The President, who also serves as the Student Director, shall
preside atallmeetings oftheExecutiveBoardorMarchingBandandshall
act as a liaison to the Director of Bands. The President shall have the
authority to create committees and appoint members to these committees.
ThePresidentisanexofficiomemberofallcommittees.
ii. Vice President
: The Vice President shall assume all administrative duties
of the President in the absence of the President. The VicePresidentshall
actastheParliamentarianandsocialchairpersonoftheorganization.
iii. Secretary/Tresurer
: The Secretary/Treasurer shall take the minutes and
roll at all functions of the Marching Band, is responsible for all
correspondence in regard to the organization, and is responsible for the
collection, accounting, and dispersal (upon board approval) of monies as
needed.
iv. Director of Bands
: The Director of Bands shall act as an advisor and a
vote to the executive board and to the Marching Band. The Director of
Performances
A. The Marching Band performs at all (five) home football games,thehomecoming
paradeandbonfire,andpossiblyawelcomeweekendevent.
B. If a conflict should arise with a performance or rehearsal, the member must
communicate with the President and Director of Bands at least two weeks in
advance. In the event of an emergency, communicate the conflict as soon as
possible.
i. Adetailedattendancepolicywillbedistributedduringbandcamp.
IV.
Dress/Attire
A. All wind and percussion members will be issued a full uniform including pants,
jacket,andhat.
