a). Identifying and keeping records of students
b). Achievement of students in previous year: This subject is introduced first time in 7 sem by RTU so
there is no previous results is available.
4). Instructional Language: - 60% English; 40% Hindi (English not less than 60%)
5). Introduction to subject: -.given the rapid emergence of cloud computing as a main stream
computing paradigm it is essential to have both a solid understanding of the core concepts characterizing
the phenomenon and a practical grasp of how to design and implement cloud computing applications and
systems. This set of skills is already fundamental today for software architects, engineers, and developers
because many applications are being moved to h cloud. It will become even more important in the future
when this technology matures further. This subject provides an ideal blend of background information,
theory, and practical cloud computing development techniques.
a). Relevance to Branch: this subject is a timely contribution to the cloud computing field, which is
gaining considerable commercial interest and momentum. This subject is targeted at graduate and IT
professionals such as system architects, practitioners, software engineers and application programmers.
As cloud computing is recognized as one of the top five emerging technologies that will have a major
impact on quality of science and society over the next 20 years, the knowledge conveyed through this
subject will help position to students/engineers at the forefront of the field.
b). Relevance to Society: computing is being transformed to a model consisting of commoditized services
delivered in a manner similar to utilities such as water, electricity, gas and telephony. As a result,
information technology services billed and delivered as computing utilities over shared delivery
networks, skin to water electricity gas and telephony services delivery. In such a model users access
services based on their requirements regardless of where those services are hosted. Cloud computing is
the most recent emerging paradigm promising to turn the vision of computing utility into a reality. Now
Cloud computing is important in many business and scientific applications. Cloud is used in study of

Analysis of DNA, RNA, Whether, Medical Science, Green Computing, Data centers, Image processing,
web hosting, social media and many more which are directly or indirectly benefited to society.
c). Relevance to Self: - with the sweeping shift from developing applications on PCs to datacenters, there
is a huge demand for manpower with new skill sets in cloud computing. This subject play an important
role in this regard by training the next generation of IT professionals and equipping them with the
necessary tools and knowledge to tackle these challenges.
d). Relation with laboratory: Cloud computing subject does not have any lab in this semester in RTU.
Many other university has cloud computing lab having experiments like creating High performance
Cloud, Cloud optimization using Hadoop, parallel execution of mathematical functions, data mining
applications using anka, Mapreduce programming, Thread programming etc.
e). Connection with previous year and next year: In last year you have studied OS and CA subjects whose
concepts can be utilized in many topics of Cloud computing.

d). Introduction & Conclusion: Each subject, unit and topic shall start with introduction & close with
conclusion.
Unit 1: Defines cloud computing and provides alternative views of its application and significance in the
general world of computing. Following this introduction, the chapter presents the essential characteristics
of cloud computing and traces the historical architectural, technical, and operational influences that
converged to establish what is understand as cloud computing today.
Unit 2: looks at the primary elements of the cloud computing architecture using various cloud-based
computing architecture models. In this chapter well examine cloud delivery models (the SaaS, PaaS, and
IaaS elements of the SPI framework), cloud deployment models (such as private, community, public, and
hybrid clouds), and look at some alternative cloud architecture models.
Unit 3: gives the concepts of virtualization that is required for deploy of cloud. It covers the virtualization
at hardware and software interface.
Unit 4:Explores the fundamental concepts of cloud computing software security, covering cloud security
services, cloud security principles, secure software requirements, and testing concepts. It concludes by
addressing cloud business continuity planning, disaster recovery, redundancy, and secure remote access.
Unit 5: gives the industry platforms for cloud and explore different areas where cloud computing is
useful.
