Synergistic Activities
1. Founder and director of the Knowledge Management (KM) Lab at Florida International University
College of Business Administration. Have received over $1.8 Million dollars in funding, primarily
federal, since started the operations of the KM Lab in June 1997. The charter of the KM Lab is to
research and evaluate the practices, processes, and technologies that are being used in the field of
KM. To date, sixty-four undergraduate and graduate, predominantly minority students have received
paid internships and scholarships to work on research projects at the KM Lab.
2. Editorial Boards of the Internal Journal of Knowledge and Learning (IJKL) and the International
Journal of Mobile Learning and Organisation (IJMLO).
3. Have published eight case studies, which have a pedagogical value and are currently in use in
different courses and at the different universities.
4. Have collaborated with many researchers across the world to assist in the development of courses in
KM in different disciplines, including business, library sciences, and computer sciences.
5. Have delivered many invited presentations at universities around the world, including: Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Hong Kong Polytechnic, Univ. of
Colorado at Denver, Univ. of British Columbia, Univ. of South Florida, George Washington Univ.
Delivered keynotes and participated in numerous conferences with a business, computer science and
engineering focus.
