THE mother of the 15-year-old girl who was reported missing since June 6, when the girl
was expected to have arrived home on a plane from a vacation in Metro Manila, said there
are still no updates and leads on the whereabouts of her daughter.
The girl was reportedly last seen at the Manila airport as she was about to board an
airplane on her way back to Davao City.
A source claimed the girl is with her aunt now. But this information cannot be verified.
The source said the girl arrived in their area and seemed to be not knowing where she is,
adding that an aunt claimed her.
But the mother said her daughter failed to board her flight to Davao.
"Wala siya nakasakay sa eroplano pabalik sa Davao, so wala na siya sa Davao (She failed
to board her aircraft so it's impossible that the girl is my daughter)," the mother said in a
telephone interview.
"Karon (Friday) pauliay ko dra sa Davao (I'm on a flight bound for Davao today)," Marilou
said.
The airline has not issued any official statement with regard the incident as of press time
Friday.(KRP)

A 15-YEAR-OLD girl has been reported missing since June 6. She was last seen at the
Manila airport about to board an airplane on her way back to Davao City.
The girl, identified as Lyn (real name withheld for being a minor), was reportedly not
accompanied by any of her relative.
Marilou, mother of the missing girl, told Sun.Star Davao in a phone interview that the victim
was in Manila for a vacation and was scheduled to return home that day but did not show
up at F. Bangoy International Airport in Davao City.
"Nagbakasyon lang siya mag-isa doon sa Manila. Pinapauwi ko na siya kasi nung first week
ng June kasi enrolment na nila. Pero hindi dumating yung anak namin dito sa Davao (She
went to Manila for a vacation. I asked her to come home first week of June for enrolment,
but she did not show up here in Davao)," Marilou said, adding that she is currently in Manila
to cooperate with authorities to locate her daughter.
She also said that they approached the airline company for assistance regarding the
incident, but claimed no action has so far been taken.
"Menor de edad yung bata dapat inieskortan yun ng mga staff ng airline (The child is a
minor, the airline staff should have escorted her)," Marilou said.
The airline requested to withhold its company name pending issuance of an official
statement regarding the matter. But sources said airline representatives are willing to
cooperate with authorities in their investigation.
Senior Inspector Milgrace Driz, spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office, said upon
checking that no report of a missing girl was recorded at the Civil Aviation Authority of the
Philippines in Davao City and the Sasa police station.

"Negative po. Wala daw silang natanggap na report (Negative. They did not receive a
report)," Driz said in a separate phone interview.
