Dear ________________,

Greetings from V-Excel Educational Trust!

This note is a sponsorship request for the Annual Cultural Day by special children of V-Excel,
where nearly 80 special children on stage and 20 trainees backstage.
About V-Excel Educational Trust
V-Excel is a non-profit, non-discriminatory social organization committed to the cause of children
and young adults with developmental disabilities such as Autism, Mental Retardation, Attention
Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADD/ADHD), and Dyslexia. V-Excel is founded in 2001 by Dr.
Vasudha Prakash, a doctorate in Special Education from the U.S. and Masters in Clinical
Psychology, who returned to India to set up a model center.
Our mission is to make a difference in the world of disability. Our core philosophy is that every child
has a potential to learn and the entire focus is hence on abilities, not disabilities. We firmly believe
that disability is just one small component of the child or the adult under question and our attempt
is always to look at the whole individual.
About Annual Day Program
Annual day at V-Excel takes place every alternate year where all the seven units of our
organization come together to make this event a successful one.
Annual day is not just an event. It is an attempt to allow the children to participate in the process of
learning. Though we began conducting this event twelve years ago as something through which
we could put up a show for parents, we have been constantly trying to find out what do the children
learn through this event. After nearly 5 productions in the last twelve years, we have managed to
find some answers which are:

The preparation sessions (around two months) are pivotal in enhancing learning of practical
life lessons and living experiences of children.
Our productions are prop rich, musically and visually appealing, with thematically deep and
thought provoking content. This helps us in teaching concepts to the children in a unique
way. Moreover, since there is no compromise on the quality of material for props and
costumes, of sound and light set up, nearly real experience is created for the children.
Through this, they actually take part in a rich fantasy filled world which would be otherwise
difficult to recreate for them.
After the two to three months we have observed that every child in the school comes out
richer, more aware and some clearly bringing out talents that we never saw before
It helps in 'normalising' the children and very often we see an increase in speech,
understanding and interpersonal relationships after this period of two months.

These findings above not only encourage us to continue conducting the Annual day without an
end, it encourages us to do it bigger and better each and every time.
