Role of Education
Education is life and survival. Education is not only confined to assimilation of knowledge. It also prepares
the students how to learn to learn, to adapt to the changing needs and to do for the good of society.
Education must be a balance between the needed disciplines, current trends and human values.
Education is achieved through the integration of ethics, decision making, risk assessment across the
curriculum. Education is improved through feedback from society, parents and students are necessary to
improvement.

The school
The school is not only houses the knowledge required for the students to learn but a venue for the students to a well
rounded person.
The school is a preparation for the students to society and a medium between the students and society itself.
The school should have a mechanism to check the students if they have contributed well to the society, in order to
improve system for the future students.

Teacher
The teacher must not consider himself all knowing but only a person born years earlier than the student which has
acquired the education and experiences that will be passed to the next batch.
The teacher should act as a guide for the students in discerning what is needed to be learned and how to learn.
The teacher is a team leader which trains the students and be a facilitator for group researches for improvement of
society and for constant enrichment of learning. A teacher is also a team player which can learn from its students.

A teacher must learn from his experience as a former student and not to let them suffer the same fate.
A teacher is a risk manager. He/She has to show the impact of the application of such education and how to
assess and control such risks
Values
A teacher is adaptive to the needs of the students can evolve from a disciplinarian to a facilitator.

Being able to see my students prosper and adapt to the changing society is an
indicator that I have succeeded as a teacher.

Role of the student

The student is a learner and sharer of information. A student is also considered a future teacher which eventually
teaches future generations on the basics and how to apply them to do good to society.

Curriculum

The curriculum should have a balanced weight on courses together with ethics and
nationalism. We are generating many graduates but their mentality is focused on
working abroad . I have always thought that we have a chance of prospering if we
will do something for the country in the country.

Without attitude, society can not progress. Society will not stand the tests of time
and civilizations will lead to extinction.

Attitude should also be intensified. Even though we have many honor students
graduating, their desire to serve the country is not

Teaching Method
To be able to learn, one should be able to unlearn.
Since I am in the pure science course before (i.e. Pharmaceutical chemistry subjects). I would prefer the pure lecture
type of teaching. One should be able to have a strong foundation of the basics to be able to apply the subject.
The teaching styles before may not be applicable right now. New medium of instructions is evolving.

Which of the educational philosophies discussed have the greatest influence on your own philosophy? Why do you
think so?
I think the essentialist however it will not prosper without ethics and values.
