Operationalization
a. Raise Public Awareness
To raise public awareness is to give out information to the public.
During this phase, it is important that the researchers are able to relay
necessary information to raise understanding and acknowledgment on the
issue. Once successfully disseminated, this would lead the audience to think
critically and prompt them to ask questions regarding the subject matter.
So it is important that the early months of the process should dwell on
the strategies needed to raise public awareness regarding the ITSO and its
services. These strategies include radio advertisements, bulletin posters,
freshmen orientation, seminars and online advertisements.
Activity 1. Radio Advertisements
The first strategy to be employed to carry out the purpose is
radio advertisements. The researchers are aware that the University of
Mindanao currently has a continuing and effective form of radio
advertisement through a series of Langga Ads. This langga ads
have garnered tons of audiences and are popularly recognized in the
city, so it is only proper to take advantage of it to efficiently publicize
ITSO and its services.
Through this radio advertisement, they are able to cover a wide pool of
audiences.
Activity 2. Bulletin Board Posters
To boost visual scenarios with the target market, flyers are to be
posted in the universitys bulletin boards. Since these bulletin boards
are scattered all throughout the campus and it has become a habit of
students to check it once in a while, a poster regarding the ITSO would
easily grab a students attention.
Activity 3. Freshmen Orientation

The most efficient time to instill in the minds of students the


services and purpose of the ITSO is during their orientation. The idea
of ITSO will be carried out from their first years of college up to the
last.
Activity 4. Seminars
These seminars are to be conducted for teachers and
department heads. They are to be introduced with the concept of the
ITSO and to be discussed a step by step process of its services. It is
important that teachers are aware of all this because they are
responsible for their students.
Activity 5. Online Advertisements
Online Advertisements include ads in social media networks and
at the same time, on the universitys own website itself.
b. Generate interest and understanding
As soon as the general public awareness is constructed, the
researchers will now focus to raise the interest and understanding of the
public; and having caught everyones attention in the matter, this is where
comprehensive interviews are being called upon.
Thorough discussions are to be demanded to answer everyones
inquiries. This are achieved through Radio Guesting and Symposiums.
Activity 6. Radio Guesting
Radio stations are known to be an avenue for the general
public to raise their questions and address their comments.
Radio can also reach a wide group of listeners, thus, it would be
the most effective way to disseminate information.
Activity 7. Symposiums
One of the easiest ways to communicate with the target
audience is to conduct symposiums/forum with them. This
communication not only promotes cooperation and

understanding among participants but it also helps identify their


questions and judgments on the matter.
c. Increase Appreciation
With the different strategies employed to raise awareness and
generate interest and understanding, the researchers would now seek to increase
the audiences appreciation on the subject. This phase now creates a major insight
experience which provides a sense of resolution to the inquiry. To induce
appreciation from the target audience, the researchers are to conduct a forum
having a former client of the ITSO to speak before the public. In addition to that,
they are also going to design a website for ITSO and its services.
Activity 8. Public Speaking
The purpose of this is to prove to the public how ITSO works and
how they can benefit from it. Experiences coming from a client himself
are reliable and cannot be easily torn down.
Activity 9. Online Website
In a generation where internet is accessible by everyone, having
an online website will reach out countless of people. Thus, it is
necessary that a website will contain all the essential information
regarding ITSO and at the same time, will also be able to cater the
audiences questions through online support.

d. Engaging Target Audience


Now the final stage of the process involves interacting with the target
audience. Since the general public now has a clearer understanding and
appreciation of the ITSO, our target now is to introduce the implementation of the
project. Thereby, this phase would focus on the press release, consultation, and
interactive program for ITSO.

Activity 10. Press Release

A press release has marketing and promotional purposes.


Therefore, there will be a press release held to officially introduce the
project to the public.
Activity 11. Consultation
Consultation involves one on one discussions with potential
clients. They will be given advices on what possible steps to take and
assist them along the way.
Activity 12. Interactive Program
A simulation of the services offered will be presented in this
strategy wherein clients and the researchers alike are given the chance
to work together as a team to achieve their goal successfully.
