LADY GAGA
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka (also known as) Lady Gaga was born on March 20 th
1986. She is an American singer, songwriter and musician She got her stage name when music
producer Rob Fusari compared her vocal style to Freddie Mercurys and so she took the name
Gaga from the band Queen song "Radio Ga Ga" sung by Freddy Mercury.
Lady Gaga was born in Yonkers, New York but grew up in Manhattan. She learnt to play the piano
by ear at the age of four and, at the age of 11, she was accepted to the Juilliard School in
Manhattan, but instead she attended a private Catholic school in the city. She continued studying
music and performing, she wrote her first piano ballad at the age of 13, and she held her first
performance in a New York nightclub at the age of 14. When Lady Gaga was 17 years old, she was
one of the twenty people in the world who gained early admission to the New York University's
Tisch School of the Arts. This is where she developed her writing skills by composing essays about
art, religion and socio-political order. However she dropped out from university and never
graduated. She then moved out of the house she shared with her housemates, and started
hanging out in the Lower East Side.
By the age of 20, she began working with Interscope records as a songwriter. She has written songs for the pop sensation
Pussycat Dolls. Singer Akon recognized Gagas vocal talent, and signed her to his label Kon Live Distribution. She started to
work on her debut album after that. She released her album The Fame in 2008 which was supposedly about how anyone can
feel famous. Her first single Just Dance was a huge success. The record was received with positive reviews and popular
success in the United States. With the help of her own creative team, "Haus of Gaga," the performer also began to make a
name for herself internationally. In 2009, Gaga released an album of eight songs, The Fame Monster, followed by 2011's Born
This Way. In 2013, Lady Gaga released her third studio album, Artpop. The album didn't please her audience as much as
her previous works. In 2014, she released an album of jazz duets with top singer Tony Bennett entitled Cheek to Cheek. In an
interview with Parade Magazine, Lady Gaga said of her latest collaboration, Working with Tony has reaffirmed everything I
knew but that you start to forget when your life changes and it gets really noisy. For Tony, its all about great music.
Lady Gaga is one of the most famous pop artists in the world. Her songs are fun to listen to and she is a great dancer. Singers
David Bowie, Madonna and Michael Jackson, along with bands like Queen have influenced Gaga. Apparently she got rid of
her natural brunette hair and died it blonde because she kept being mistaken for singer Amy Winehouse.
