Description:

Objectives:

Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography. Incorporate


basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout. Create a project folder
wtih image, logo and InDesign documents to keep links intact.

Process:

I first created some sketched of the outline I wanted. Then I used my


sketch as a guide to create my flier in Adobe InDesign. I used gray boxes for repetition and contrast. I aslso emphized one word in my title for
more contrast and to create a vocal point. I left white space and kept my
body copy small. I was given the body copy, logo and image for this flier.

Process:

I scanned my drawing and then sized it in Microsoft Word. I didnt


want to use too much color to distract from the drawing. I kept the
font simple and flattering so it would catch the eye of my audience.

Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then download it
Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels.
Use a selection tool to isolate a portion of the image.
Desaturate the selected portion of the image.
Use a filter or colorize a portion of this image
Follow a color scheme

Process:

After taking this picture with my point and shoot camera I edited the picture in
Photoshop. I adjust the image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels. I
then created the rectangles using the rectangle tool.

Montage

Process:

I started off by brainstorming what I wanted my poster to look like. I


actually based the the look of the poster around the quote. After finding
both images I layered the image of the temple ontp of the storm image
using masking. Using the masking tool, I blended the images together.
Then I added the quote where there was white space to even it all out.

Create a variety of logos to fit a personal image.


Use the basic tools of Illustator

Process:

I really enjoyed creating logos in Ilustator. I used a pen tablet and


attatched it into my computer. By doing this I could hand draw
the trees, mountains and handwrite the font on my last logo. I
used the ellipse took to create the circle outlining the mountains.

Letterhead

Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image. Design consistent
layouts for a business card and letterhead. Use the basic tools of Illustator &
InDesign.
Process:
I positioned the placed logo in the top left corner of my letterhead. I then
took the line to create a small thick line. I duplicated the lines and made a
design on the top and the bottom of the page. I then lined up my information in the top right coner. I copied the the trees and layerd them on top of
each other with low opacity.

Business Card

Process:

I wanted to keep the look simple and cool so it would capture my audiennce. I used two different logos I created to keep the look exciting. I created
the line underneath Outdoor Specialist on the front of the card using the
line tool.

Web Page

Objectives:

Size and optimize an original logo as a png for a web page.


Write content to descrive the process of creating your logo and how it appeals
to a target audience.
Design a web page using HTML to display a logo and content.
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML and basic understanding of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple files in a zipped folder to attach as one file.

Process:

I created this web oage using only TextWrangler. After I marked up all my content
and inserted my image. I attached a pre-made CSS document to my HTML. I then
used the colors from my logo as the colors for my webpage. I found these colors by
opening Photoshop and using the eyedropper tool. I also changed my fonts to Times
New Roman and Verdana. I then found a nature image I thought refelected the site
and colors. Using a CSS convertor I made the image my background for the website.

Brochure

Objectives:
Set up and align a two-sided folded document.
Learn how to wrap text around an image.
Use paragraph styles in InDesign.
Process:
I set up the gateway fold in Adobe InDesign. I split my layout into
two section on the front and three sections on the inside with
the concept that the small fold will hold the folds together. I used
guidelines throughtout the entire progext to set up where I wanted
to set everthing.
