Description

This is a brochure for a beauty salon inPortland, Oregon. It lists prices, and gives
the contact information of the business

Sugar Facial $100

Objective

The message is meant to convey the price

of this services at the salon to the customer. The feel of the brochure is meant to
send the message that this is a professional
salon that offers professional quality services and products.

Teen Facial $35

Process

To start off, I created a simple logo in adobe

illustrator. using the shape tool, pen tool,
and gradient tool, I created the flower. The
brochure itself I created in adobe InDesign.
One of the main tools I used was the shape
tool. I used it to create the circle on the cover, the rectangle on the bottom of the front,
the pictures in the circles, and to create
the color overlay rectangles in the middle.
I lowered the opacity of the left and right
boxes in the middle to create a overlay that
still revealed the background image. I used
text wrap on the back page to allow the
text to wrap around the picture, still making it readable.

Anti-Aging Facial $80

Vitamin C Serum treatment to compliment
the electotherapy treatment. Mud Puddle
Hungarian Wellness to freshen your skin.
Finished off with a relaxing massage.

Exfoliation of the skin by steam and salt

spring rub. Ending with Hungarian wellness
mud, and a relaxing hot rock massage for the
neck and shoulders.

A basic facial to help with deep

pore cleansing and exfoliation.
Includes advice for skin care.

About

Z-more salon was designed with your comfort in

mind. Created by Portlands own Zaid Aurich in
2002, the salon offers a variety of services that are
meant to keep you feeling great, and looking that much
better. Services available at the salon include manicures, pedicures, hairstyling and cutting, body waxing/
sugaring, facials, and body waxing. Come stop in today
to experience one of Portlands best kept secret!

A native of Peru, Zaid Aurich has always had a

love for anything that will make a girl feel glamorous.
She brought that love with her when she came to the
U.S. in 1984, when
she decided to make
her dream of owning a
salon a reality. During
the process, she met the
love of her life and was
married in 1989. With
four children, Zaid loves
spending time with her
family, and loves any excuse to make some of her
spicy Peruvian food for
a group of people. Her
love of helping others feel
beautiful is evident in the way she runs her salon-with a
load of class and a pinch of spice!

towards encouraging recent graduated to attend
a graduate leadership conference.

Objective

This flier is meant to inform recent graduates

that by going to this conference, they WILL gain
the competitive edge in business that is in demand in the business world. It will help them be
better prepared to enter the work force.

Process

I started by drawing and putting all of my ideas

onto paper. Once I had the design I knew I wanted, I mapped it out on Adobe InDesign. I made
the picture the entire background to give the
audience a sense of empowerment. The header
font is sleek and matches with the whole concept of the flier, which is business professional.
The oldstyle body copy font in simple, and the
white text color contrasts with the transparent
dark background. I matched the date, time and
place font at the bottom to match with the header font, to create repetition.

These are three different logos for Lidia

Cookies. Lidia is a woman in Brazil that
my roommate taught on her mission,
who sells cookies for a living. These
logos are meant to help her business
stand out against competitors.

Objective

These logos are meant to share the

message that Lidias cookies are yummy, and made with love! They are very
simple, just like a cookie is very simple.
Simple, yet sweet!
Process

All of these logos were designed in Adobe Illustrator. For the first logo, I typed
out the text and then un-grouped the
image so that I could replace the dot on
the i with a heart. I made the heart by
combining different shapes. The second
logo was made my first using the shape
tool to create a circle. After coloring
it brown, I used the distort/transform
effect to roughen the edges, giving it a
cookie look. After placing the heart in

This is meant to be an inspirational poster. It

inspires elegance and beauty to the viewer.

Objective

Be exquisite! In whatever way works for you,

you have the ability to be exquisite.

Process

I got both the stage image and the ballerina image off of google images. I opened both images
on adobe photoshop.Originally, the stage image
had another design in the background, and I
used the fill tool to get rid of it. I added each
ballerina image as its own layer, and put a
mask on each layer. I then used the paintbrush
tool to blend the images together and allow the
background to come through. I used a text box
to create my text.

These are business cards for a cookie company based out of Brazil. The owners name is
Lidia.

Objective

The objective is to advertise for Lidia Cookies.

Process

I took the logo I designed in Adobe Illustrator, and focused the design around that. I
used the roughen effect to create the cookie-like edges found on the card and on the
letter head.

To allow the Lidia Cookie company to

communicate in a proffessional manner with proffessional stationery.

I used the sketch effect to change the

texture of the rectangle shape. I used
a cohesive color scheme between the

a theme. I created the letter head and

Description

This is a web page for Lidia Cookies- a

cookie company based out of Fortaleza,
Brazil. It is meant to give the audience a
general understanding for what the company is, and how they can experience the
delicious treats that are Lidia Cookies.

Objective

The message on the webpage right now is

to inform the reader about how I made the
logo. On the actual webpage that would
be representing the company, it would be
informative as to what Lidia Cookies are,
and how the reader can obtain some.

Process

I used text wrangler to edit my HTML and

my CSS. I looked at a lot of tutorials in order to know how to go about this project,
and that helped a lot. HTM is meticulous,
and everything has to be in the right spot.
Throughout the process I made sure that
everything was in the right place with the
HTML. For the CSS, I made some basic
changes to the font, and the colors.

Description

This is a poster that is meant to

demonstrate a cohesive color scheme,
as well as basic editing and photography skills.

Objective

The message of this poster is meant to

inspire the audience to take a stand
against people for what they know to
be right, even if it is against some of
their closest friends. It is meant to
inspire the viewer and let them know
that even if you stand alone, you can
know that you are doing the right
thing.

Process

I took this picture at the Draper temple, and edited it on Photoshop before
inserting it into the poster. I lightened
it up quite a bit, and played with the
saturation to make it appear more
warm. I started a new document in
photoshop, and changed the texture.
