Why do I want to pursue this career?

Mathematics, Sciences and Computer Science are


among my primary interests.

I am very logical and interpersonal which is extremely


required to be successful in this field of engineering
mathematics and sciences are involved, and I have to be
able to co-operate with coworkers.

Also, I am very curious that propels me to research


about any unknown matters, which is very crucial in this
career.

Knowledge and intelligence are skills that I highly value


and this career not only helps me gain knowledge through
education at university but also, I receive knowledge
throughout the career.

Im an auditory and visual learner. To acquire knowledge


in this profession, I have to be able to understand and
perceive knowledge visually and through audio.

What do I have to study in high school in order


to get into the Biomedical engineering
program?

What experiences would I have to prepare


myself for this career?
To succeed in this career, I have to be excellent at
computer science. Therefore, I could take the Grade
10: Introduction to Computer Studies course.
Also, I have to be skilled at computer programming.
Thus, I should be able to take the Grade 11: Computer
Programming course.
In any university, community involvement is considered
as an important asset. Also, the destination and
company I volunteer for would be an important. So, I
should volunteer at charities such as The Salvation
Army, Red Cross Canada, etc.

What are my actions put toward this program to


enroll in it?
I will take my recommended courses in high school in
order to understand the basic principles of computer
sciences, mathematics and sciences.
I will volunteer at computer-related, office environment
areas and charities to gain knowledge and work with
people.
I will work part- time (possibly at a computer-related
job) and save some money for my education fees for
the university of my choice.

My RESP will pay a considerable amount for my tuition


fees and I will be enrolling in the co-op program.

What are some potential barriers I could


face in achieving my career goals?

An important barrier that would be only crossed with


hard work and determination, is receiving 90%+ in all
compulsory courses for the program. (Listed in page 2)

The Biomedical Engineering program only accepts a few


numbers of 45 students. To be one the students chosen, I
have to be extremely intelligent, dedicated and accept all
its terms to the field Ill be prepared to step in.
