attention to
Battery voltage and current plots.
Duty cycle plots and handling of random load. Where is the random load placed in the
combined duty-cycle.
Battery Sizing report section for IEEE-485 calculation table and summary page.
Run Battery Sizing Calculation with Load Flow Calculation method, check plots and report.
Compare the two methods Which one provides more conservative results? Which one is more
accurate?

4. Study 2 Effect of Load Model for Battery Sizing and Discharge
Run Battery Sizing Calculation with Load Flow Calculation method and Load Model Based on
Type of Element, check plots.
Run Battery Sizing Calculation with Load Flow Calculation method and Load Model Based on
Duty Cycle Type, check plots.
Compare the two cases above What is the difference between the two models?
5. Study 3 Effect of Duty Cycle Span Options on Discharge
Change the study case to use Load Flow Calculation method and Duty Cycle Type Load Model.
Check the Update Battery Size option in the Sizing page. Run Battery Sizing calculation to
update battery size.
Run Battery Discharge Calculation with each of the options in the Duty Cycle Span Option
section. Check plots and report.
Compare the three cases above What is the difference between the options? Which one gives
the most conservative results?
6. Study 4 Effect of Some Other Options on Battery Sizing and Discharge
Change Load Duration and Diversity Factor and check their effect on battery sizing and discharge
calculations.
Change Correction Factor options on the Discharge page and check its effect on battery discharge
calculations.
Change Battery Characteristic Curve options on the Info page and check its effect on battery
sizing and discharge calculations.
