1. Program Educational Objectives(PEO)

Our graduates will be able to understand the fundamental principles of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering, including its scientific applications, rigorous analysis, and creative design.
Our graduates will be able to understand the current issues in engineering with emphasis on Electrical and
Electronics Engineering, necessary for productive careers in the public or private sectors, or for the pursuit
of graduate education.
Our graduates will have necessary communication skills and teamwork, so that they are prepared for the
complex modern work environment and inculcate professional attitudes and ethics.

3. Course Objectives:

To know the principle of Practical DC Generator and Motor and outline the
concept of armature reaction and commutation in DC Generators and
Motors
Discuss about various types of losses in DC Machines and distinguish between
armature and field control method of speed for different types of DC Motors

To know the construction and operation of transformers, types of

transformers, EMF equations & tests.

3. 3 Phase AC Machines which are widely used in industry are covered and
their performance
aspects will be studied
4. To know the physics of semiconductor electronic devices, the characteristics
and their
Equivalent models.
Memorize the mechanism of flow of current through the p-n junction and
relating this phenomenon to the characteristics and operation of the diodes,
bipolar and unipolar transistors JFET AND MOSFET.
5. The concept of biasing in BJT and JFET so as to able to analyzed advanced
electronic circuits.
6. To know the basic operations of digital electronics of gates and functions.

State the Principle of D.C. Motors and demonstrate the techniques
for speed control and starters
Able to learn the concept of transformers and the construction and
operation of transformers, types of transformers, EMF equations &
tests.
Able to design the construction and operation of three phase
induction motors and the performance characteristics of three
phase induction motors& Able to learn the construction and
operation of alternator.
Get clear understanding of internal physical behavior of PN
junction Diode, Zener diode and rectifiers. Discuss the breakdown
mechanisms in semiconductors so as to construct a Zener voltage
regulator used in regulated power supplies.
Able to learn the concept of the construction, operation and
characteristics of Bipolar Junction Transistor, JFET and MOSFET .
Able to know basic introduction to digital electronics of gates and
functions.
