What Six Sigma Belts are provided by SGS Academy Egypt?

SGS Academy Egypt -as an IASSC accredited training
organization- offers Yellow, Green and Black Six Sigma
Belts that are internationally accredited from the
International Association of Six Sigma Certification (IASSC)
that is considered as the only third party accreditation body
all over the world. Training events could be conducted
inside and outside Egypt with accredited training tutors.

Why is a third-party accreditation important?

Third-party certification is the only method of certification that is independently developed and verified thereby
removing conflict of interest and providing significant meaning.
The classifications of certification methods are:
First-party certification; which is a self-declaration. I am a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt because I meet the criteria
which I have defined and therefore can say that I am a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

Second-party certification; which is when a company or training provider creates its own verification program for
candidate certification. I am a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt because I meet the criteria defined by the single
organization that provided my training.
Third-party certification verifies that a product, process or service meets defined, industry-independent criteria or
standards as reviewed by an impartial party. I am a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt because I meet the criteria
defined by the impartial association who maintains the industries standard.
Historically second-party certification has been the norm in the Lean Six Sigma Industry. Due to the problems
with second-party certification more and more people, training providers and organizations, are moving to and
incorporating IASSCs third-party certification.

What is International Association of Six Sigma Certification (IASSC)?

The International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC) is a member organization dedicated to growing
and enhancing the standards within the Lean Six Sigma community. IASSC is the only independent third-party
certification association within the Lean Six Sigma industry that does not provide training, mentoring and
coaching or consulting services. IASSC facilitates and delivers centralized universal Lean Six Sigma Certification
Standards testing within the Lean Six Sigma industry. IASSC is a member of the Institute for Credentialing
Excellence.

What is International Association of Six Sigma Certification (IASSC)?

What is the ILSSBOK?
The ILSSBOK is a document that defines the topics that are expected knowledge requirements of a Lean Six
Sigma Black Belt, a Lean Six Sigma Certified Green Belt and a Lean Six Sigma Certified Yellow Belt.
The ILSSBOK was developed by the industry and organized by IASSC. The ILSSBOK is continually updated to
ensure that it maintains an accurate reflection of the knowledge expectations of the industry.

How can I get internationally certified in Six Sigma? And when?

You can get enrolled in any of the Six Sigma training courses provided at SGS Academy Egypt and then sit for
the international examination session after the course. IASSC Certification Exams are professionally developed
to assess a persons knowledge as it relates to the subjects defined in the ILSSBOK.

What are the exam format, exam duration and exam modes?
All exam questions are multiple choice and true/false and can be taken either as hard paper examinations at
SGS premises or computer-based testing. Black Belt exams are 150 questions over 4 hours. Green Belt exams
are 100 questions over 3 hours. Yellow Belt exams are 60 questions over 2 hours. All exams are closed book
and are marked by IASSC.

How much does the Six Sigma Examination cost?

Exams come at affordable prices and these prices are standard all over the world. The cost for the IASSC
Certified Black Belt Exam is $395 USD. The cost for the IASSC Certified Green Belt Exam is $295 USD. The cost
for the IASSC Certified Yellow Belt Exam is $195 USD. There are no other charges associated with these
certifications.
P.S. Training fees dont include examination cost.

How many times can I re-take an exam?

There is no limitation or time restriction on examination retakes. Each time you sit for an exam, you got to pay for
the examination cost again.

What is the duration of a Six Sigma training course?

Yellow Belt training is 3 days. Green Belt training is 6 days delivered as a weekend schedule (Fri/Sat). Black Belt
training is 15 days delivered as 5-days per month for three months.

Is it mandatory to report a Six Sigma project for course completion or certification?

Although work and application experiences are helpful in obtaining the knowledge required to successfully
complete the exams; however they are not examination requirements.
The sole objective of the IASSC exams is to measure the examinees knowledge not their work or project
experience. This is in alignment with the Certification Industries Best Practices.
Black Belts course attendees are encouraged to formulate and report real-time projects within their industries and
these projects are discussed during classroom sessions for maximum benefit from the integration of knowledge
and real world examples.
Yellow and Green Belts course attendees are given case studies and workshops to facilitate the learning path
and incorporating a practical approach with their real life project that might be implemented in their organizations.

What is the ideal Six Sigma Belt for me?

This depends on several factors such as the hierarchical position, team level and level of experience about
improvement projects. However, the following statements describe the role of each of the different belts.
Yellow Belts are people who are effective team members but will not managers. Yellow Belts might be
responsible for some small core processes, improve day-to-day activities but will not manage an improvement
project.
Green Belts are people who are effective team members in the core of a Six Sigma improvement project and will
be continually assisting Black Belts. They are actually involved in problem solving through analysis and direct
support.
Black Belts are the leaders of Six Sigma improvement projects. They act as knowledge source for Six Sigma
methodologies, tools and techniques and smoothing out the core processes for better functionality and
productivity
