ENGAGEMENT OF ASSISTANT PROFESSORS, SENIOR TECHNICIANS AND
JUNIOR TECHNICIANS ON CONTRACT BASIS
Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Salem functioning under the aegis of Office of the
Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, invites
applications from the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professors, Senior and Junior
Technicians on contractual basis for a period of 11 months. ( August 2015 to June 2016) to Handle
Theory & Practical classes to the B.Tech Handloom and Textile Technology Students in the discipline of
General Engineering, Carpentry, Electrical & Electronics, Physics, Chemistry & Computer Science.

ANNEXURE IV
Terms and conditions for engagement of Assistant Professor, Senior Technician, and Junior
Technician
1.
The engagement shall be for a period of 11 months only and stands terminated without any
information/notice. However, depending on the requirement of the Institute and the performance of the
person engaged, the period of engagement may be renewed.
2.
During the period of contract, the Senior Technician shall perform the duty at IIHT, Salem,
During the validity of this Contract of engagement, the technician shall abide by the disciplinary
rules and attend Office on all working days, and, if necessary, on holidays, if required, he/she shall have
to work even beyond normal office hours.
4.
The engaged persons shall be entitled to draw a consolidated monthly salary during the validity
of this contract. No other remuneration shall be payable to him/her on account of working on holidays
and / or outside office hours.
5.
This contract of engagement is terminable by the Institute at any point of time without assigning
The engaged person also reserves his/her right of terminating this Contract of engagement by
giving the Institute one months notice in writing or payment of one month consolidated monthly
salary.
7.
The monthly payable remuneration shall be worked out by applying the following formula :Number of working days Attended by the Official x Consolidated Monthly Salary
