Warp Release 6.3 Service Pack 1 (Warp R6.3SP1) is an update to

Warp Release 6.3. The Warp 6.3 Service Pack 1 release adds some

minor fixes.

On the PC platform, Warp Release 6.3 includes the post-synthesis

timing simulator Active-HDL Sim(TM) version 3.3 and the finite-

state machine (FSM) editor Active-HDL FSM(TM), from Aldec Inc.

Active-HDL Sim is a full-featured post-synthesis VHDL timing

simulator, which supports simulation of VHDL and Verilog files

compiled to Cypress devices. Except for the PSI family, this

simulator supports all Cypress PLDs including the Delta39K and

Quantum38K families. Customers wishing to simulate PSI devices

must obtain Warp Professional, Warp Enterprise, or use a

third-party simulator that supports 'fs' resolution.

Application notes are available in the doc folder in the

installation directory for Active-HDL Sim and Active-HDL FSM.

All Programmable Logic related application notes, including

those specifically for designs specifically targeting

Delta39K/Quantum38K and PSI devices, "Delta39K/Quantum38K

CPLD Device I/O Std. and Configurations" and "Designing with

the Programmable Serial Interface (PSI) for High-Speed

Solutions", are available at:

http://www.cypress.com/support/.

NOTE:If you already have the Active-VHDL product from Aldec Inc.

installed, do not install the Active-HDL Sim shipped with Warp

Release 6.3. Instead, update the primitive library (please refer

to the Warp KP&S document on how to update the libraries).

If you have Active-HDL Sim installed with a different version of

Warp, you need to re-install Active-HDL Sim to get the library

updates shipped with this version of Warp.

This release also includes Warp Professional and Warp

Enterprise products. Warp Professional and Enterprise editions

are a seamless integration of Warp and Aldec's Active-HDL

products.

3.0 Installing Warp

3.1 For All Platforms

During installation, the Warp documentation is placed in .pdf

format in the <Install-Dir>\doc directory. Warp documentation

can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader, shipped with the

Warp CD-ROM. To install Acrobat Reader, insert the CD in

CD-ROM drive, locate databook\acrobat\windows\rs405eng.exe and

double click the left mouse button on this file. It will

automatically install the Acrobat Reader. The Solaris version

of the Acrobat Reader is located in databook\acrobat\acrosun.

You can download the latest Acrobat software from the Internet

at www.adobe.com.

3.2 Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP Pro Warp Installation

Installation for Windows 98/ME and Windows NT/2000/XP Pro is fully

automated. To install Warp, run the Warp setup program

d:\warp\pc\setup.exe (where d: is your CD-ROM drive). The Warp

installation program automatically invokes the Active-HDL Sim

and Active-State Editor installation program.

Note: On the NT platform, make sure that the Active-HDL Sim

installation directory has read-write permissions for all the

users.

During installation, the AUTOEXEC.BAT file will be modified.

First the AUTOEXEC.BAT file is cleaned up by removing all

lines which contain CYPRESS_DIR, and on Windows 95/98/ME,

all lines with the phrase "added by Warp".

The original AUTOEXEC.BAT is saved as AUTOEXEC.nnn.

Next, the following lines will be added to

the AUTOEXEC.BAT file on Windows 95/98/ME platforms:

REM ** Following 1 line added by Warp. Please do not disturb **

set CYPRESS_DIR=<Install-Dir>

On Windows NT/2000/XP Pro no new lines are added to the

AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

Note: On the NT platform, Active-HDL Sim and Active-HDL FSM

require the installation of Microsoft's Windows NT Service

Pack 3.

To locate the Warp product after installation, go to Start ->

Cypress -> Warp R6.0.

3.3 Solaris 2.5 or later Warp Installation

3.3.1 Mount the CD-ROM.

If the Volume Manager is running, it will automatically

mount the CD-ROM. Otherwise, login as root on a machine

that has a CD-ROM drive. Run the following commands to

create and mount the /cdrom directory:

mkdir /cdrom

mount -F ufs -r /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s2 /cdrom

In this procedure, it is assumed that the CD-ROM drive has

a SCSI ID of 6 . Make sure that you specify the correct

SCSI ID in the previous mount commands.

3.3.2 Local Installation.

cd /cdrom/cdrom0/warp/solaris

./install

This program will walk you through the rest of the install-

ation process.

To install the Acrobat Reader separately, run the following

commands instead of the previous commands:

cd /cdrom/cdrom0/databook/acrobat/acrosun

After this step is completed, please skip to Step 3.3.4.

3.3.3 Remote Installation.

If you are installing from a CD-ROM that is on a remote

machine, export the /cdrom directory. Add the following

line:

share -F nfs -o ro /cdrom/warp

to the file /etc/dfs/dfstab on the remote machine, if

the line does not already exist. If nfsd is not running,

reboot the machine.

Run the following command to export /cdrom/warp:

shareall

Remote login to the install machine (where you want to

install the software) using the following commands:

rlogin <install machine> -l root

If /cdrom does not exist, run the following command:

mkdir /cdrom

Mount the remote CD-ROM on the install machine, change

the directory to the CD-ROM, and run the installation

script by using the following commands:

mount -r <remote-machine-name>:/cdrom/cdrom0 /cdrom

cd /cdrom/warp/solaris

./install

This program will walk you through the rest of the

installation process.

Unmount the CD-ROM and come back to <CD-ROM_drive

host> machine.

cd /

umount /cdrom

exit

3.3.4 Unmount the CD-ROM

Type in these commands:

cd /

umount /cdrom
