Chapter 1

THEORY

1.1 Introduction
Wax pouring machine is used to pour wax into mould and making candles .We can
easily operate this machine and make candles because this is simply constructed machine
only one simple press and pull mechanism is used in this machine .In This machine when
the switch has been pressed, at that time wax come out from nozzle and pour in mould.

1.2 What is a wax pouring machine?

This project is a step to improve the situation of industries producing candles with an
useful concept i.e, production of candles with manual operation. Wax pouring machine is used
to pour wax into mould & making candles. In this machine, simple press pull mechanism is
used.

1.3 Need of wax pouring machine

Now we are throwing some light on the very new and innovative concept that is Wax
pouring machine. the needs of this project is the proper utilization of the man power, low
wastage of wax, avoiding the breakage of candles & producing candles at high scale.

1.4 History
In ancient time, the people were suffering from darkness during night. So, the invention
of candle come into existence almost 200 years later we are still using the candle to generate
light source on a useful scale. At that time, the candles were produced at low scale & only
simple design but in todays technology colored candles, and different shapes of candles are
possible.

1.5 Define project

Wax pouring machine is used to pour wax into the mould and making candles easily
without wastage of wax. Heated wax is stored into the chamber and that wax is pour into the
mould with the help of nozzle. Simple press pull mechanism is used in wax pouring machine.
in wax pouring machine switches are fitted and there is press pull manually and nozzle is open
and closed.

Chapter 2

DESCRIPTION

2.1 Problem description

At present troubles like wastage of wax, breaking in candles, need of skill workers etc.
occurs. To avoid there problems, the new innovation project has been made.
In Today`s Technology and Machinery in industry there is a wastage of wax , as the
wax enters the mould & remaining wax make the cavity in between the spaces of moulds .

2.2 Principle of wax pouring machine

When the wax is poured in the chamber, and comes to the nozzle at bottom, there is a
simple press pull mechanism attached on the centered of the body. At the bottom the melted
wax is related from the nozzle and poured into the mould of derived shapes & size.

2.3 Construction detail

The construction of wax pouring machine is very simple. The components used in
These Machine are Nozzle, Switches attached with press pull mechanism, stainless steel body.
There is a chamber for pouring wax at the top of the body there is 3 individual switches for
individual nozzles.
Wax pouring machine is totally constructed by stainless steel. Chamber of wax is
standing on four legs that is also made from stainless steel. mould is put bellow the nozzle on a
plate. That is jointed with legs.

Figure 2.1 Wax Pouring Machine (front view)

This is a front view of wax pouring machine in this design this figure indicate nozzle
and hot wax exit area from nozzle.

Figure 2.2 wax pouring machine

This is a design of wax pouring machine. this figure indicate press pull switches and
wax entry port, in this design one switch for one nozzle.

(Fig 2.3 candle making machine)

This is a design of candle making machine in running technology. In this design one
skill worker is needed and Huge man power is needed. In this design Time consumption is high
and wastage of wax is also high.

2.4 Working of wax pouring machine

Wax pouring machine is working on simple press pull mechanism. There is a chamber
(box) of stainless steel heated wax is pour inside the chamber and after than the box is closed.
If there are needed to do more heated wax we are joint portable heater with the chamber.
In this design of wax pouring machine there are three nozzles and one switch for each
nozzles. Different shapes of mould are putting below the nozzle. when the switch is press at
that time nozzle is open and heated wax is poured in mould when the wax is completely poured
in the mould at that time switch is pull off and nozzle is closed.

2.5 Advantages of wax pouring machine

No need of skill worker.

Time consumption is low.

Colored Candles can be made with different designs.

In this machine, wastage of wax is low.

By using this machine industries can increase their production at lower cost.

2.6 Limitation of wax pouring machine

Serious injury to the operator of wax pouring machine may be possible as the wax ishot.
In wax pouring machine no need of skill worker but one operator is necessary.
In wax pouring machine, we can use cold Wax for making candles.

2.7 Application of Wax pouring machine

Wax pouring machine is used to make candles.

Wax pouring machine is also use to make candles in different shapes and different color.

2.8 Safety operation

In this wax pouring machine the heated wax is used so for the operator safety he has
needed to wear the gloves in his hand.

Literature survey

Literature reviews is the process of reading, analyzing, evaluating, and summarizing

scholarly material about a specific topic. Our topic is wax pouring machine it is also called candle
making machine. different types of wax are used to making candles. Literature survey contains a various
work done on candle making wax or candle making machine.

Worked on Effect of candle wax hardness on the burning time of a candle

The purpose of this experiment was to find the effect of candle wax hardness on the
burning time of candle.
She became Interested in this idea when she observed a candle in her home and
wondered what made it burn for such a long time. She also thought there might be ways to
make it burn ever long.
The information gained from this experiment could help candle makers produce longer
burning candles. Decorative candles are expensive, so users would want them to last as long as
possible. Also people need candles in case of a power outage. They need candles they can relay
on to burn as long as the outage lasts.
The original purpose of this experiment was to find the effect of candle wax hardness on
the burning time of a candle.
The result of the experiment were that control group had an average burn time of 155.7
minutes. The group with 9 grams of hardener had an average of 182.3 minutes, and the group
with 32 grams of hardener had an average of 182.7 minutes.

Study on Some types of candles may pollute indoor air
Burning certain kinds of candles may generate indoor air pollutants paraffin-based
candles emitted toxic chemicals like toluene and benzene national candle association says no
candle wax harmful to humans plenty of other household products give off volatile organic
compounds.
A soak in a steamy tub, surrounded by candles sure seems like a great way to unwind.
But new research suggests that burning certain kinds of candles may generate indoor air
pollutants.

Chapter 4

CONCLUSION

This Machine is very useful for the production of candles at very low cost as compare to
todays method. Candles can be made more as the wastage of wax is low and wastage of wax is
avoiding in this machine.
