Xerox 5638 / 5655 / 5687 Workcentre - Fault codes

If a fault occurs on your Xerox device, a fault code is generated and displayed in the Fault List, accessed through
the Machine Status button. The list below contains some of the most common fault codes with a description of
the fault and how to resolve it. Contact the IT Service Desk if the fault persists or if you need assistance.
01-300
Front Door open. Check that all jam clearance handles and levers are returned to their correct position. Check
that the Xerographic module is installed correctly. Close the front door.
01-305
Left Hand Door open. Open the left hand door and check that any paper or objects are removed. Close the left
hand door.
03-310
Document Feeder open. Open the top cover of the Document Feeder and check that any paper or objects are
removed. Close the Document Feeder.
03-336 - 03-338
Fax Service is unavailable. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
03-340
Network Controller start up error. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your
machine.
03-401, 03-403
Fax option not detected. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
03-416 - 03-419
Incompatible software. Contact the IT Service Desk.
05-300 - 05-310
Document Feeder open. Open the top cover of the Document Feeder and check that any paper or objects are
removed. Close the Document Feeder.
07-301 - 07-304
Paper Tray jam. Open the appropriate paper tray and remove any misfed paper.
08-100 - 08-190
Paper path jam. Follow the jam clearance instructions, ensuring that all paper or objects have been removed
from the path.
09-380
Ensure that the Waste Toner bottle and Ozone Filter are correctly installed and close the access door.
09-390
Contact the IT Service Desk to request a Toner Cartridge replacement.
09-399
Xerographic module error. Check to see that the xerographic module has the correct part number.

10-101 - 10-131
A paper jam has occurred. Follow the onscreen instructions to clear the jam.
10-399
Fuser module error. Check to see that the fuser module has the correct part number.
11-005 - 11-078
Finisher error. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
11-100 - 11-305
Finisher jam. Open the finisher door and top cover and remove any paper or objects. Check that the staple
cartridge is not jammed.
11-350 - 11-370
Hole Punch and/or staple error. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your
machine.
19-401, 19-402
Out of machine memory. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
20-302 - 20-305
Fax card has a hardware or software error. The fax card will automatically reset itself. If the reset fails, switch the
machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
20-324
Out of fax memory. Delete unnecessary files from mailboxes or stored for polling. Switch the machine OFF and
ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
20-331, 20-332
Communication Error on fax line 1 or 2. Ensure the fax line is plugged in and functioning, then attempt to resend
your fax.
22-370
Unable to communicate with the Xerox Standard Accounting database. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using
the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
22-400 - 22-408
Options failed to install. Switch the machine OFF and ON, using the On/Off button at the side of your machine.
