The music video that we have proposed to make would be Unknown by the artist
named Foxes. The song of the video is 4:06 minutes so we are hoping that our
music video would also be the same length as the song. In regards to the
locations of our music video we were hoping for the theme to be travelling
around the world. We were thinking of going to various different locations such
as Sutton, Kingston, Waterloo and stay on location, which is Glenthorne High
School. Once all the filming has been done and synced in with the music we
would then start to compose the music video at the Sutton Facility.
We are hoping that our chosen song (Foxes Unknown) would be aimed at 13 30.
To be able to convey this in the video we would use multiple theme and music
video convention to try and reach and appeal to the target audience.
One of these themes would be to make eye contact with the audience and make
them think they are part of the music video. One other thing that would be very
effective and appeal to our target audience will be the use of costume. By
wearing something that they may relate to them they will feel like the video was
made for them.
The music video will show a young female would is independently going around
the city of London travelling. We are hoping that in our music video we can show
a range in shot types, edits and locations and the video would represent the
theme of travelling and going to The Unknown.
The locations that we proposed to visit in order to shoot the video are Sutton,
Kingston, Oxford Street, Waterloo and Glenthorne High School.
The music will include the following:
a) The first location that we hope to shoot would be on location and be
around where we are. In location we hope to at least shoot any mid-shots,
close ups and extreme close up. These shots would purely be in order to
film the lip-synching and any kinds of performance shots
b) Our other location we wish to visit is Waterloo. This location is in the city
and is the perfect location for our theme of travelling because when
anyone goes around sightseeing a typical place they would visit would be
at Central London. In this shot we hope to show the big ben as well as our
artist in the shot. To be able to do this we may use location shot and low
angle shot.
c) Our other location is also in Oxford Street, this is location is also in London.
Even though this doesnt portray the theme of travelling however portrays
the theme of fun and excitement. We were hoping to have this location the
transitions in the music video before we cut to any other shots.

d) Our last location we were thinking of visiting would be Kingston. In this

location we are hoping to get side angles and over the shot angles to
portray movement of our artist and almost have it like the audience is
right there with theme in the music video.
e) We hope to incorporate a high angle in the music video. This would create
a vulnerable look within the video. This would then create tension keeping
the audience engaged in what they are watching
f) If we include a high angle we would also have to add a low angle in order
to have a contrast in shots. By doing this we would be giving the vibe of a
dominating look. It would also show the scenery and the character is a
better way and would easily portray the message and them that we wish
to convey.
g) We also wish to include close up shots mainly for the lip-synching of the
lyrics within the music video. The close up would also be used to
expressed to show the emotions and feelings of the audience making the
storyline clear for the audience that are watching.

Structure (Initial Ideas)

The music video will be in colour and in PAL 16:9
1) In the beginning of the music video the audience would be presented with
a young female who would be played by Clare OMara in the first location
that would be presented, this would be Morden station. In this shot we
would see Clare going into the underground- this would give our audience
the first clue as to what our theme would be and gradually they would be
able to acknowledge the theme and know the storyline for the music
video.
2) We are hoping that after this scene we would cut between Clare OMara
and Khrystlyn Wilson lip-synching along with the lyrics of the song
Unknown by Foxes
3) Within the music video we hope to show a range of different location shots
that would be portrayed through the use of shot types such as a long shot
and a location shot. This would be incorporated in order to give the
audience a better understanding of the storyline in the music video. By
adding these shots it also allows the music video to become more
conventional through the range of shot types. This is a very common
feature in music videos to make it look professional and allows it to appeal
to their audience.
4) Throughout the music video we would have the main character Clare
OMara going through the town meeting new people. The cast of the
people she would meet would be Khrystlyn Wilson and some of Clare
OMara and Khrystlyn Wilsons friends. These scenes would be shown
through the use of mid, long and close up shots. This is in order for the
audience to understand what is happening as well as allowing them to see
the costumes, props and emotions to the characters in the music video.
5) In every music video there is an aspect of lip-synching. In our music video
the first person to be seen doing this would be Clare OMara. This would
be exhibited through the use of our shot type. This would be close-up and
extreme close up in order for the audience to see the emotions and
feelings that would be emitted through to the audience from the artist.

6) After Clare OMara lip-synching the audience would then be presented with
the second artist Khrystlyn Wilson lip-synching as well. During this lipsynching the shot type would be mid shot. This would mainly be in order
for the audience to see the costume and makeup in order for the audience
to understand the storyline through the use of prop choices. It is also allow
the audience to feel like they can relate to the audience and the message
the video is trying to portray because we are trying to appeal to our
audience.

Budget
Planning meeting: The overall cost of this would be 15
Filming:
The filming would approximately be 55 a day to hire a camera per day. This
would be quite expensive so we are hoping to get a lot of filming done within a
few days. Hopefully all the filming we wish to do would take at least 3 5 days.
Due to the fact that the main people in the music video would be Clare OMara
and Khrystlyn Wilson there would be no need to hire a cast.
Editing:
For the crew it would mostly be me (Khrystlyn Wilson) and Clare OMara as the
crew, so we would not have to pay for one. However the overall hire for editing
the software would probably be 25.
Camera:
To be able to film this music video I had to consider the different kinds of camera
equipments that would be needed to film the video. To be able to have a better
judgement on the price of camera and the qualities it possess I had to compare
different cameras such as Nikon, Canon and Codex. Looking at the different
cameras I realised that the best was Nikon, I thought this was the best choice
was Nikon due to the monthly cost of 100 and deposit of 50.
Tripod:
The other thing I had to look into was the use of a tripod to stand the camera on.
I have decided to use the MANFROTTO PRO TRIPOD. I had other option as well as
this one- however the ones that I looked into didn't allow weekly hire and since I
was going to hire the camera for a week I believed that hiring everything else for
a week as well would be easier and a bit more convenient. I also chose this due
to the qualities that it possesses and the creditability that it has. To hire this
tripod for a week would cost 65 for an actual week, however it did offer the
price of 55 for 5 days. But I have decided to go for the weekly price because I
believe it wouldn't make much of a difference.
The rating of the music video will be, PG; this is because the music video will be
safe for young children, as the music video will not contain any use of any
explicit language or images. Therefore this music video is safe and suitable for all
ages. However this music video is stereotyped to appeal to females aged 13-30,
due to the genre of music playing, (which is stereotyped to appeal to females
aged 13-30), actors aged between 13-30 as well as choice of costume worn by

actors is relatable for this type of audience, which in this case is females aged
13-30.
Subtotal: 200.00.
Production Contingency @10%
Travel Expenses @40p per mile
Total production budget= 280.00
Schedule
The production will be produced within the timescale that will be indicated by our
shooting and editing schedules. Attack Promo will ensure that all location filming
is carefully planned to take into account the safety of the crew and the general
public and any production contingencies. The finished music video will be
available for viewing at an appropriate time in order for any changes to be made
before the suggested release date.

Sources of requirements
In terms of where we would be supplied our equipment from, we would have to
hire it from Glenthorne High School which would only give us a certain quantity
of equipment for the music video. For the costumes and props they would be
supplies by the two artist Khrystlyn Wilson and Clare OMara from our
surroundings. This is to save money and keep to our budgets for the music video.
In terms of crew we may not need a large amount of people for the video
because it may be confusing to the audience who the artists are. The locations
on the other hand for the music video which are Glenthorne High School, Sutton
High Street, Kingston High Street, Morden, Oxford Street and London can be
found very easily through the use of google maps, as well as getting to the
destination. This is to ensure we dont get lose and that we can get to the
location safely and easily.
