Meetinghouse Musical Instruments

International Meetinghouse
Musical Instrument Program
1) The Musical Instrument Selection
Committee (MISC) is chartered to review and
recommend meetinghouse instruments for
worldwide application. These are then
approved by headquarters Meetinghouse
Standard Plan Committee (MSPC).
2) Using instruments approved by the MSPC,
the area should develop an area meetinghouse
musical instruments list and guidelines to
define the application of instruments in new,
existing, and expanded meetinghouses.
Suggested quantities are found in
Meetinghouse Musical Instrument Quantities
(International Areas).
a) The area list and guidelines should be
developed by the Area Standard Plan
Committee and approved by the DTA.
b) As the area list and guidelines are
developed, areas should evaluate local
conditions that impact the use and security of
musical instruments.
i) The area may adjust instrument types using
the approved manufacturers to:
(1) Meet local needs and practices.
(2) Ensure that the instruments can be

adequately safeguarded.
ii) The area may not exceed the maximum
number of instruments indicated in
Meetinghouse Musical Instrument Quantities
(International Areas).
iii) For a meetinghouse addition project,
provide musical instruments as needed to be
equal to but not exceed the total number
furnished for the corresponding standard
meetinghouse of similar size and unit
occupancy.
