Pathology Lectures:Q. Why Students dont attend the lectures?

Because they find that studying at home listening to Drs Recording is more beneficial for them
and more ease
Q2. Why they think that Drs Recordings are better than the real interaction between the
lecturer and them?
Because:-

The atmosphere is better in home than in the college , regarding air conditioning, seats,
availability of drinks/food
The lecturer style is better, his communication skills is great, he knows how to deliver
the scientific knowledge to be memorized very easy and to be understood smoothly
One Lecturer, one style for all the curriculum

Q3. What do I think can be done to at least increase the number of students who attend it?

Labeling the lectures, give the students a monthly schedule of the chapter that are going
to be conducted,(exams that are going), by the end of this chapter you should know
The PHOTO MEMORY: photo memory is something most of us use to remember the
scientific knowledge, we imagine the page of book that has this question then we start
to answer, it is really famous , even in Quran the Imam use it in the mosques.

Q4. How can the Lecturer deliver the photo memory?

Department Pathology Book: the lecturer has to strict his way to lecturing to one
specific book, and the conduction should start from a beginning of the chapter to the
last of it Without jumping from a subject to another , when the chapter starts, the
chapter has to be finished, then a new chapter starts, and that another factor make the
students dont attend the lecture and prefer the recordings, the Dr is lecturing with the
papers he has or a book he bought, and the students has all the lectures labeled by
chapters, whenever he wants to study for instance Inflammation he play the record and

open the book, he finds that the information are with the same sequence in the
recording and the book.

Pathology Book:
Department Pathology book is a must for several reasons regarding the fund raising
sources and the internal recognition in Egypt, it is really a shame that we study from a
book written by a Dr. from Cairo University
The book has to be colored ( with diagram whenever is possible , the diagram has to be
with same page so the student when he read for instance Aschof bodies in Rheumatic
Fever he sees it in the diagram, so in the exam when the question is MP of Rheumatic
he will remember the Diagram (better for Photo memory)
The Page should be an A4 size not like Dr. Ibrahim hassan book, or larger.
Practical Lectures: Practical Lectures wasnt beneficial for me, I have attended most of
them, it was full of side talk of the lecturer, and his communication skills was not really
good. I dont have any clue what to do with them, but I hope you have a plan Dr.

Fund Raising Sources:1 Pathology book will be a good fund raising source for the department, I recommend
you make a collection of (the book, the practical book, and the Department ID s all
together with a profit of 25% on each collection
For students who wants the practical book only, its profit will increase to 50%
2) Organizing international events in the Pathology department ( Pathology Summer
School in Egypt For Egyptian and Foreigner students who wants to increase their
experience more and getting more involved in the pathology field , a certificate signed
and stamped from the faculty is a great attraction for people to get enrolled
