DREAM BIG

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men
Colossians 3:23
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where
you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. 11I
have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to
the strong, nor does good food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour
to the learned: but time and chance happen to them all. Ecclesiastes 9:10-11
Commitment to Excellence
Most of us are not interested in leaving footprints on the sands of time,
not even a minuscule tracks. We want the easiest shortcut, least demanding
job, and the fastest way to success that requires the least amount of effort.
Commitment to excellence is gone. Commitment to mediocrity is in.
ask any hs counselor how many students he/she knows who have brains but
do not use them. Ask how many teens could do outstanding work, but fearing
the comments of their peers, they sink to C-level work.
Will the world ever again see masterpieces that will rival these---or
even come close to them?
I refuse to accept the conjecture that all the great art, literature, and music
that fill our libraries and museums were products of an age that has been
supplanted by science and technology, which says we had better preserve
the past because there is no future.
God requires our best-and to do less than the best is not only a sin against
God but also a shame to the family and the family name.
Why?
1. Unleash your full potential
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord,
not for men Colossians 3:23
We are in the 21st century, an age of technological breakthroughs that
we had previously not thought possible.
Where are we headed? Are you content with getting by, or are you
determined to do your best? Why bother anyway? If people can get by with
minimal effort, why go allout?
Unless you do your best, you will never know what you might have
accomplished. Indeed, who knows?
2. Glorify God
Insight:
Doing your best glorifies God and makes your Father in heaven proud of you.

Why does God care whether we do our best or just enough to get by? Whats the
connection between our effort and His will? Gods desire is for us to become all we
can be. What we are is Gods gift to us; what we become is our gif to Him.
God gave you tremendous talents and abilities, and doing your best, no matter what
it may be is what it takes to realize your potential. Doing your best profits you. Not
your teacher.
A commitment to excellence is different from being a perfectionist who is never
satisfied with what he does. A commitment to excellence means at the days end,
you turn out the lights, tired but fulfilled, knowing you gave your best and have
nothing to be ashamed of.
