Ernestomeda has launched the EMVIRONMENT

project, a responsible, hands-on approach that
reects the companys green side through small
but signicant steps towards eco-sustainable
industrial development. In January 2009
Ernestomeda started to use ZEROE PLANET,
electricity produced solely from renewable sources
with ZERO impact in partnership with LIFE GATE
EDISON ENERGIA and certied by the RECS
(Renewable Energy Certicate System) mark.
Under the ZEROE PLANET programme, all CO2
emissions generated in every phase of production
are compensated through the creation and
protection of areas of woodland in ITALY AND
COSTA RICA. Ernestomeda has also adopted
IDROLEB, the exclusive environment-friendly,
water-repellent panel with the lowest
formaldehyde emissions for the construction of
its kitchens carcases. The environment-friendly
panel is made from 100% post-consumption wood
with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certication.
