Prize. Considering the secrecy clause involving the nomination, and the 50-years
rule, arouses suspicion and causes discomfort the massive, repeated and constant
campaign of disclosure about a subject that should be discreet.
The fact is Mr. Lula does not have a biography adherent to the requirements set out
by Mr. Alfred Nobel.
"To the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between
nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and
promotion of peace congresses."
In a year which Charlie Hebdo and the Russian Novaya Gazeta opposition newspaper
are indicated, do not doth magnify a candidate coated with the appearance of an
officialism strongly questioned by damning suspicions of electoral and budgetary
fraud.
On the other hand, serious, deep and detailed investigations of wide repercussion
cases as Petrolo and Mensalo frontally reach Mr. Lulas life. Petrolo is also under
investigation in the US Justice Department [ in the same lines of FIFA case ], and
recent reports indicate that this scandal definitely knocked on the front door of Mr.
Lulas [1] biography.
For these and other reasons, we, Brazilians and citizens of the world sign this
petition and we ask that this prestigious Committee honors the tradition established
by Mr. Alfred Nobel. That the award continues
granting the ones who have shown courage and
perseverance in the struggle for harmonious
integration of peoples and races. We ask you never
allow the honor of the Nobel Prize be used as a
political manipulation tool, and attempt to
electioneering advantage for perpetuation of power
projects.
Please reject Mr. Lulas nomination to the Nobel Peace Prize.
