4. What differentiates Deutsche Bank from our competitors? (Max 100 words)*.
Deutsche Banks motto Passion to perform and its logo depicting growth in a
secured environment are inspirational. The bank has maintained a strong position in
the market despite the recession, and is the largest foreign exchange dealer in the
world. The initiative by the banks Global Art Programme 'Art works, sets itself
apart from all the other banks, which is unique. I have been associated with music
for the last 18 years, and an initiative like this in itself is an inspiration, which
reflects how an organization is interested in giving back to the society.
5. Why are you interested in this division? (Max 100 words)*
I always had a keen interest in Mergers and Acquisitions, as the transactions here
affect the whole industry. Research suggests that more than 60% of the deals do not
go through, which reflects the need for a perfect balance in leadership, integration
and communication to have a successful transaction, since combining two
organizations of any level of complexity is actually an extraordinary undertaking.
The learning curve in the investment banking department is very steep and I want
to learn a lot and take on new challenges like this. The skills required here
complements the proficiencies that I posses.
6. What skills do you have which make you suited to this division? (Max 50 words)*.

The skills that I posses are: Analytical, Communication, Interpersonal, Team Work,
Leadership roles, Event management, Client facing roles, Networking and
Multitasking. I feel that to work in M&A, we need these qualities and I posses all of
these. This makes me confident in pursuing a career in this division.
7. What extracurricular activities do you participate in? (Such as societies,
entrepreneurial activities, sports, music, volunteering and so on) (Max 100 words)*.
I play Sitar, and have completed the degree of Junior Diploma from Prayag University. I was a part of the
TCS - Pune Corporate Music Band and the college band which played at various competitions and events
and won many laurels. Also I was a part of the Organizing Committee of the IEEE - Pune Chapter, where
we organized IEEE events and was previously an Event organizer for my college events. Also, I
collaborated with the Editor to coordinate and develop articles and sections of the TCS Assurance
Newsletter.

A recent development affecting the investment banking industry has been the
uncertain currency movements between the euro and sterling as opposed to dollar.
This factor has lead to less cross border mergers and acquisitions (M&A). In recent
years there has been a continuous flow of M&A related capital flows as US
purchasers contributed to 42 percent of UK M&A deals till date. This figure will be
hugely affected, due to lack of liquidity in the currency and the risk of unexpected
movements amongst the currencies.
Barclays Capital has developed its business with resilient models. They have
sustained strategic momentum in challenging the markets state of affairs, by
producing a comparative strong performance via market dislocation and a universal
banking model by the acquisition of various businesses worldwide with their focus
on both the developed and emerging markets. There has been a substantial
increase in its Core Tier 1 capital ratio and its liquidity buffer, with a fall in its
leverage ratio which is a key measure of its stability in this crisis times, going
forward.
