Introduction

First of all, I would like to welcome you all here.


My name is . I am from . I graduated from I have been with the University for years.
I am going to give you practical classes/seminars/ tutorials. I am going to deliver lectures in (the
name of the subject).
This term I am going to teach you Pharmacology/Psychiatry/Internal Diseases. The course will
last for 6 weeks/ a year.
We will be having our classes on Mondays/Fridays...
Our (daily) classes will be running from 9 am till 11:30am here at the Chair of /classroom No.
My consulting hours are from 10 am to 2pm. I will be quite happy to answer all your questions.
Should you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to ask.
You may/should/must/had better come and clear/account for your academic debt(s) on Monday
at 3pm. You missed the lecture/the practical class on May 13 and now you will have to clear your
academic debt. You may come on Monday. I will be here at 5 pm.
The course will be concluded by a credit (a final exam). At the end of the course you will have to
take a credit/a final exam.
The Examination Board includes..The examination given by the Examination Board will be
held at the Chair of ., at 3pm on Monday.
It is crucial/important/necessary/ for all of you to attend all the lectures/practical classes.
In case you miss a lecture/practical class, you will have to come and clear/account for your
academic debt.

deans office and come back again later. This is not a good excuse for not attending the
lectures/practical classes. I have to submit the papers about your academic results to your deans

think I may give you a test? Take your time to get prepared for the test. If you get a bad mark,

Starting the lectures, practical classes, tutorials

Good afternoon.
My name is (Last name, Name, Patronymic) and I want to welcome you to this workshop
(seminar, session, tutorial, lecture, practical classes) on (the subject of the topic).
My coworker is ... who comes from the Volgograd State University (Hospital, Chair) is going to
be with us today/ is going to replace me next week as I am leaving for Moscow.
The session on (the subject of the topic) is about to start. Please, take a seat and disconnect your
cellular (mobile) phone which could interfere with the oral presentation.
You will listen to 2 30-minute lectures with a 5-minute period for questions and comments after
each of them, and afterwards, provided we are still on time, we will have a last round of
questions and comments from the audience, speakers. We will proceed with the session on (the
subject of the topic). As many papers have to be delivered I encourage you to keep an eye on the
time.
I encourage you to take notes of all the lectures.

Technical Problems

The computer is not working properly. While it is being fixed I encourage everyone to revise
your homework (to start/go on delivering your own presentations).
