Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

It is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, It is through faith that
a righteous person has life (Gal. 3:11, NLT).
This coming week Muslims begin the month-long fast of Ramadan. They will read through the Koran, fast from dawn to
dark, and pray in order to become right with God. As they seek to please Him, let's pray they will become aware of His
mercy and grace that covers our futile human efforts.

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

GHANA: A student who pastors a church here asks us to pray that the Lord will thwart the plans of Muslims in the
area who are trying to organize themselves so that they can fight Christians. He reports that the churches are
reaching some through personal evangelism, and some come to visit and are discipled in secret. Please pray that they
will grow in their faith so that they may stand firm and be strong witnesses to their families.
On June 3, flooding in Accra destroyed the Assemblies of God printing plant and damaged the bookstore, ruining the
stock of Sunday school materials and some office equipment. These materials are used in AG churches across the
nation. Please pray for the efforts of the leadership to quickly produce lesson materials for July and for the provision
of equipment needed.

In the News
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Eritrea, a small nation on the Horn of Africa. Muslims make up about half
of the population. Christians in particular face persecution from a heavy-handed government and risk being
imprisoned, beaten, locked in containers, and ordered to renounce Christ. Those who try to make the journey to
Europe or elsewhere (some 5,000 Eritreans attempt to flee their homeland every month) risk capture by Islamist
groups. On June 3, ISIS militants stopped a caravan in Libya, separated the Muslims and Christians, and kidnapped 86
Christians. The next day, in Sudan, another group kidnapped 14 Eritrean believers from a refugee camp. God knows
where they are; pray that they will sense Jesus' presence, for wisdom as they interact with the captors, and for
miraculous release.

From Global Initiative*

Intercede for the 1 million Muslims in the country of Georgia, with a total population 4.3 million. These Muslims,
most of whom are not ethnic Georgians, live mainly along the southern border and are influenced by Turkey,
Azerbaijan, and Iran. While some 80% of Georgia's people claim Christianity (mainly Georgian Orthodox), only
about 1.4% are evangelical believers. Pray that believers in the Georgia Pentecostal Union (Assemblies of God) and
other Pentecostal and evangelical groups would find open doors to share Jesus' love with their Muslim countrymen.

For Muslim Women**

Pray that women who have already begun their spiritual fasts (to make up for the week they wont be able to pray
during Ramadan) would encounter Jesus, who longs to be their righteousness.
