5. Cautions in soldering
Please do not spread liquid flux in soldering.
Please do not wash the soldering point after soldering.
6. Cautions in soldering for chip capacitors
Please solder the chip capacitors after pre-heating for replacement because they are very weak to heat.
Please do not heat the chip capacitors with a soldering iron directly.
7. Cautions in handling for chip parts.
Do not reuse removed chips even when no abnormality is observed in their appearance. Always replace them with new ones.
(The chip parts include resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors,
etc).
Please make an operation test after replacement.
8. Cautions in handling flexible PWB
Before working with a soldering iron, make sure that the iron tip
temperature is around 270C. Take care not to apply the iron
tip repeatedly(more than three times)to the same patterns. Also
take care not to apply the tip with force.
9. Turn the unit OFF during disassembly and parts replacement.
Recheck all work before you apply power to the unit.
10. Cautions in checking that the optical pickup lights up.
The laser is focused on the disc reflection surface through the
lens of the optical pickup. When checking that the laser optical
diode lights up, keep your eyes more than 30cms away from the

Place the HDD-BRKT part on HDD (D) and tighten it with


3 x 5 screws (E).
* Pay attention to the incorrect HDD installation.
(Refer to the difference of the HDD model name.)

Bend the tabs in the direction of the PWB silk.
Bending sequence is specified. (1) to (3)
When bending the tabs with the tool, be careful not
to touch the BT module.

Release the FFC connector lock of the CF PWB.


(Refer to Fig. 1.)

Insert FFC-50PIN-78MM (C) into the CF PWB connector


(blue is up) and lock it.
(Refer to Fig. 1.)

securely locked.

Insert FFC-15PIN-78MM (D) into the CF PWB connector


(blue is up) and lock it.

in 2 places.

The 2 FFCs should be pulled through the holes


of the CF BRKT. (Refer to Fig. 2.)

Insert the CF PWB part from the front cover side of AUDIOPWB (H) and tighten it with 2.6 x 5 screws (I).
(Refer to Fig. 3.)

Check that the plug notch of the CF PWB fits


securely with the positioning dowel of the AUDIOPWB.
Pass the 2 FFCs through the holes of the front
cover, and pull them through to the inner side of
the front cover. (Refer to Fig. 4.)
Tightening sequence is specified. (1) to (3)
Tightening torque: 0.4 Nm

Check the mounting condition of chip R(R2304) of NAU-US-V


PWB (J) and remove the 3 connector caps. (Refer to Fig. 4.)

There should be no peeling, cracks or missing


parts for R2304.
(Check with the loupe.) (Refer to Fig. 5.)

Install the NAU-US-V PWB on the AUDIO-PWB part.


* Push close to the center of the NAU-US-V PWB to lock the

Pass it through the upper
side of the sheet ANT.

Affix ANT sheet (B) to the main unit assy, and terminate the
GPS-ANT cable. (Refer to Fig. 1.)

Check the insertion and lock conditions of the 2 FFCs of the


CF PWB.

Place sheet HDD2 (C) on top of the main unit assy HDDBRKT.

Check that the base of the ANT cable has not been deformed.
(Refer to the ANT confirmation figure.)

Insert the FFC (small) from HDVD mechanism (D) into the
FFC connector of the NAU-US-V PWB and lock it, place the
HDVD mechanism on the main unit assy.

Fit the HDVD mechanism to main unit assy in the order of near
side then back side, and tighten it with 2.6 x 8 screws (E)
and 2.6 x 8 screw (F).

Insert FFC-23PIN-80MM (F) between the XM-PWB connector

perform wire termination of the FFC on the front

Check the HDVD mechanism spring. (Refer to Fig. 1.)

Check the 6 stickers on the inner side of upper cover (D),


insert on the upper surface of the main unit assy in the order of
front left surface side then front right surface side, and set on
the front side surface only.

Place the rear cover US part on the rear surface of the main
unit assy, fix the whole upper cover on the main unit assy and
tighten it with 2.6 x 8 screws (E).
