NAMES USED TO DESCRIBE GOD

IN THE OLD AND NEW TESTATMENT

PART 1
This guideline is to be used for either a cell group or your own personal bible study.
For the last decade or so we have found many ministers of the gospel [both clergy
and lay] use varied expressions when they describe God and our Lord. They are all
scriptural and should be used and make for powerful prayer in the proper context.
This guide is in three parts beginning with the scriptural names that are traced back
to the Old Testament.
In another expose, I wrote about the significance of names and being careful how we
name our children. At this point equal thought should be given when naming a
ministry, church or building. On a personal level it is wonderful to be able to pray to
God and His Son with intimacy, calling them by special and descriptive names.

Following is a list of names, some of which you may be familiar with and others that
we may only now recognise. It is my prayer that as you use this bible study you will
be blessed and, bless others.

Think of Jesus as our advocate with the Father.
