A. MangUNA sa UNA!
The Ugnayan ng Nagkakaisang Artista organizational alliance acknowledges the concerns
and issues unique to colleges and organizations dedicated to the arts. UNA will be
strengthened through expansion, encouraging more art organizations to join and forward
the alliances campaigns for the re-assertion of the rights organize and use of venues and
art-spaces.
B. Hello Higala!
The different regional organizations in the University will be assembled for a meet-andgreet and a planning for events, programs and initiatives the organizations and the
Committee could all collaborate for for the academic year.
C. The Interfaith Assembly
The different regional organizations in the University will be assembled for a meet-andgreet and a planning for events, programs and initiatives the organizations and the
Committee could all collaborate for for the academic year.
D. OICAtoto Na!
The Committee shall establish relations with the OICA early in the year, in order for the
Committee to be better informed about the initiatives of the office and for it to act as a
machinery for information dissemination.

Content
A. Panitikan sa Daan
Given the recent proposal and repeal of the CHED Memorandum 20, Series of 2013, a
call for poetry and micro-fiction written in Filipino by students will be made in order to

further strengthen the spirit of the Filipino language within the University. All pieces
collated will be posted inside Ikot and Toki jeeps to be read by students all over the
University.
B. ArTHESIStic
A bibliography of the Best Thesis award recipients of arts colleges around the University
shall be created and made accessible to students both for the acknowledgment of the
theses and as reference for students conducting research. This will be done with the
Education and Research Committee.
C. KultuRocks!
A week-long exhibit featuring the artistic and cultural traditions of the different
Philippine regions and indigenous groups shall be held in order to highlight Philippine
culture and its value in the University. This will be done with the participation of the
different regional organizations and indigenous peoples advocates in the University.
D. The UP Arts Month
With the consolidation of efforts of the Universitys arts collegesas represented by the
different College Representativesa series of events will be held in celebration of art and
culture on February. These events, with a nationalistic UP brand, will include public art
exhibitions, guerilla zine releases, discussions, forums, workshops, film festivals and
flash mob performances all around the University.

Context
E. ArtEskwela Discussion Festival
A festival of exciting discussions on the situation of arts and culture in the Philippines to
be conducted by professors at different colleges and dormitories to enrich UP students
nationalistic cultural competency.
Topics would include:
a Language, Literature and Society
b Popular Culture
c Gender and Culture
d Arts, Culture and Religion
e Art and Nationalistic Spirit
F. ArtEskwela Workshop Festival
In addition to discussions, ArtEskwela will also include a series of free workshops on the
visual, performing and literary arts, such as filmmaking, scriptwriting, comics writing,
foreign languages and more. It will also cover publicity material making and other
applied arts workshops.
G. Artists Charter

An information bulletin especially catering to arts and culture-related concerns will be


created and distributed to all arts colleges and organizations in the University with the
help of the Mass Media Committee. This will contain a list of venues and art spaces in
the University with their corresponding fees and a directory of all arts and culture
organizations that can aid in unity and networking. The CoCA shall coordinate with the
Students Rights and Welfare Committee and the Good Governance Committee for the
gathering of information.

H. Technique
A. Sining at Arms
In the belief that art is weapon for social change, the Committee shall be ready to call for
artworks about the different issues and campaigns of the Student Council. The works
collected will be released through the armaments of the Mass Media Committee, the
campaigns of the Community Rights and Welfare Committee, and the commemorational
events of the Peoples Struggles Committee.
B. ArtReach
The Committee, together with the Peoples Struggles Committee, the Ugnayan ng
Nagkakaisang Artista and the Universitys arts and culture organizations, shall hold an
outreach activity and cultural immersion in different rural communities and indigenous
peoples both to know the state of their art and culture, and to hold art workshops and
cultural discussions.
C. Art Paper
The Committee, with the assistance and advice of the Mass Media Committee, shall
release one-page, back-to-back fliers containing short/small artworkswhether visual,
literary, or the likefrom students, locations and dates of art events around the
University, and other art-and-culture-related news .

I. Space
A. Mga Kampanyang Ma-aArte
Campaigns for lower rent of venues and art spaces and the promotion of Philippine art
will be forwarded through activities such as road and mural paintings, room-to-room
discussions, art exhibits and forums.
B. Art Attack
For the campaign for the lower rent of venues, the CoCA shall organize a semester-long
campaign, involving research about the issue, stand-making, petition-signing and art
exhibitions.

C. Bantay Sining
Given the spreading issues of art theft and intellectual property infringement, the
Committee, with the Students Legal Aid and Counseling Committee, shall hold a forum
that tackles both the abovementioned issues and the best legal measures to address them.
J. Guerilla Galleries
Artworks, from paintings to sculptures, will be called from students to be displayed in
galleries in various student centers in the University such as Palma Hall and Melchor
Hall, acting as an avenue for students to exhibit their work.

K. Rhythm
1 UP Fair
In line with its goal to empower arts and culture collectives in the University, the CoCA
shall act as an advisor for artistic and cultural concerns for the UP Fair.

KarolFest
In order to address the incompatibility of the new academic calendar with the KarolFest,
the CoCA shall strengthen relations with the Office for the Initiative in Culture and the
Arts so that it can act as a more efficient arm for information dissemination and assembly.
