Unlocking potential .Changing lives

Principals News

KS3.

Our final half term has started

at pace. A significant focus for

us this half term and as we
move into next year, is to
address our curriculum at KS3.
All learners will see an increase
in their allocation of English
and Maths lessons next year
with most moving from 4
lessons a week to 5. We are
also looking closely at the
content of our KS3 curriculum,
which currently is not
sufficiently challenging for
learners and as a result we see
uneven rates of progress across

It is critical that we

address this. There will also be

continued

emphasis

on

developing learners literacy

skills

in

all

areas

of

the

curriculum.

to avoid unnecessary learning

time being wasted.
I

carers who continue to support

us with our uniform policy; on

forecasters have got it right and

we all get to enjoy a sunshine

the whole our learners look

smart and are ready to learn
every day. There are however
a small number of learners who
are arriving in school wearing

Nurture

This week the spotlight is on the Creative Blog

Great News this week Nurture received a cheque from Moto Services
for 1500 which will enable them to develop a sensory garden at
school. This type of environment can become a place where children
with autism and other sensory processing disorders feel safe and
comfortable in exploring their senses without feeling overwhelmed by
them - well done everyone!

New Payment System - School Gateway

http://dartoncollege.co.uk/category/
students/student-dept-blogs/creativestudent-blog/

We are pleased to advise that we

have introduced a new payment
service - School Gateway. This
means that you will be able to
make online payments via the
School Gateway smartphone app
or website. You will also be able to
view school meal balances and
top them up at any time.
Any balances from the previous
payment system (Squid) will automatically be transferred to the new
Gateway account. If you had a
bank standing order set up for
Squid payments this will need to be
cancelled via your bank. The topup facility is not yet available via
Gateway we will up-date you
when this facility has been added.

What you need to do now

Activate your School Gateway
account. It is quick and easy to do.
All you need are your email address
and mobile number that school
holds on record for you.
Download the app: If you have a
smartphone, please download
School Gateway from your app
store (Android and iPhone). The
app shows the same information as
the website PLUS it saves the school
money when we send you a text
message.
OR Visit www.schoolgateway.com
and click on New User. You will
receive a text message with a PIN
number. Use this PIN to log into
School Gateway.
