Guide to change SecureDongles Developer Password by using SecureDongle
InitPassword Tool
If you install the SecureDongle SDK.exe, then you can find the in "C:\Program
Files\Securemetric\SecureDongle SDK\Management\SD_InitPassword.exe" or you can
go to program filesecureDongleSDK- SecureDongle InitPassword Tool(click and open)

Once you click and open, the tool with following interface will appear, please enter your
current dongle password P1, P2, P3, P4 into the input password column 1 by 1. if you are
using the default SDKs dongle for this step you can just check the demo box on the
right or if you want, you can manually key in the default password P1: 1C76 P2: 8078
P3: 8058 P4: 5D6A (which mean generate from seed code= FFFF)

In the Modify password part, you can key in your seedcode, maximum length is 8, in
whatever form, could be alphanumeric or symbol e.g Ab34!@@@
After you key in the seed code (must remember it and keep it safe) and confirm to change
the dongle developer password to new, now you can plug in the dongle and click on the
modify button, if it is success then the message box will showed you that the message
Change password successfully and please record the new developer password now.
This sample seed we are using is 1234@@@@ then manage to generateP1: 1376 P2:
731C P3: 032A P4: 162E
Remember: the more complicated will be harder for others to guess your seed code.
Please keep the seed code as safe as possible.
Details to be notice!
If you check on the Auto Save box, then your seed code will be save in the text file name
called password.txt in C:\Program Files\SecureMetric\SecureDongle
SDK\Management , if someone manage to get this file then they will know your
seedcode. This feature designed to assist software developer or dongle owner to record
down all the seed code use but could be vulnerability if wrong use by third party!

Last option/feature available in this tool were you can use it to change dongle password
by batch and without require you repeat the step from the beginning to the last step, what
you need
Please make sure all dongle which ready for batch production current password is the
same, else it will cause the failure(show in the State information)

To cross check whether all your dongle are set to correct developer password, you might
use the SecureDongle Editor tool (tool designed for developer to edit SecureDongle
content) to test the dongle password.

This is the dongle password page, if you know and you had record the new generated
SecureDongle Developer password, please key it in to box.
Basic PW1 =P1
Basic PW2 =P2
Adv PW3 =P3
Adv PW4 =P4
After key in, please click the OK button

After you click on OK button, if the dongle password is correct then you will manage to
detect Securedongle and the SecureDongles Hardware ID (HID) will show on the left
hand site of the editor tool interface.
