Dear Ms. Torrecampo,
I am writing to express my interest in the position as an Instructor in the College of Architecture which
was recently advertised on "Careers at LPU- Cavite" Facebook account. As clich as it may sound, I
am applying for the simple reason that I want to teach.
To become a professor was not a dream profession when I was young, but the opportunities,
obstacles and achievements I have acquired along the way have opened my desire to teach. At
fifteen, I was privileged to be awarded a scholarship in Singapore and this phase in my life taught me
the importance of a good-quality education and to value it. In college, I also became a Dean's Lister
for three semesters in one of the reputable universities in the Philippines. I acknowledge that those
achievements do not indicate any teaching experiences; however, these illustrate my enthusiasm for
education and my constant desire to learn.
Further, for the past three years, I have worked as a Junior Architect for design firms and have been
working as a freelance Designer/ Architect since I graduated. Currently, I am also employed as an
Assistant Site Architect for a construction company which has an on-going project in Naic. These
diverse work experiences help me gain a clear understanding of the design and building process,
which I believe is necessary to possess if one is to aspire to become an architecture instructor/
professor.
Although I have enjoyed these roles and still am enjoying, I am looking for a new challenge that will
provide me with the opportunity to impart my knowledge and this, I believe, is attainable thru
teaching. I have enclosed my curriculum vitae for your review and I would very much appreciate
having the opportunity to talk with you further to discuss the requirements and expectations of the
position, and how I could use my skills to benefit the College.
