Chemical Engineer, graduated in 2008 from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota ,

Colombia, with a experience of 5 years in Oil&Gas, specifically in Firefighting and Risk
Assessment (4 years), both in document preparation like in project coordination and
design quality.

Currently, and since September 2013, in process of doing a Master in Safety and Loss
Prevention Engineering in the Process Industry, in the Politecnico di Milano, with available
time to work currently during the day.
FIREFIGHTING AND RISK ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST TECHNIP (TIPIEL)

Activities carried our for ECOPETROL S.A., Pacific Rubiales Energy, Mansarovar Energy, bp
Exploration Colombia, Equion Energy Ltd. (ex bp in Colombia), for Conceptual, Basic and
Detailed Engineering Projects, executing the following works:
Coordination of the Firefighting & Risk Assessment Team (FF&RA) in order to achieve all the
objectives for the plant design.
Revision of the prepared documents to issue (prepared by third parts or in the same FF&RA
Team), to guarantee the quality of the analysis and of the fire water system design.
Risk Assessment studies for projects in upstream and refinery in the petrochemical field,
mainly by using the software PHAST (by DNV), in order to analyse the main fire and explosion
scenarios.
Design of Fire-fighting systems to protect crude oil and (its by-products) plants, based on
API, NFPA, and other international or client standards of design.
Design of Fire & Gas systems associated to the Oil&Gas industry processing plants, based on
API, NFPA, and other international or client standards of design.
Evaluation and issue of recommendations for improving the process plant design (new or
revamped).
Specification of main fire equipment for the fire-fighting systems (main pumps, reservoirs,
tanks, jockey pumps)
Hydraulic calculations for water and foam flow (when used) for the Fire Water Protection
Systems.
Elaboration and revision of procedures for the company in order to standardized the criteria
of the design activities listed above.

PROCESS ENGINEER TECHNIP (TIPIEL)

Specification of Main Process Equipment for Oil&Gas projects: Process pumps, Storage tanks,
Chemical packages, etc.
Hydraulic calculations for, crude oil, gas and water pipelines.
Process simulations in Aspen HYSYS and Pro II for the handled projects.
Preparation of documents of the plant operation philosophies (e.g. Control and operation
philosophy).
Document issues for the Client, related to the activities listed above.
