Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Govt. of India. The Society is registered under
the Societies Registration Act, 1860. DOEACC Society is the only professional examination body in
India, which accredits institutes/organizations for conducting particular courses, specializing in the nonformal sector of IT education & training. O/ A/ B/ C Level courses conducted by the institutes in the nonformal sector have established a brand name in the field of IT in India and abroad. The DOEACC Society
under the guidance of Examination Board conducts the examination for these courses.
The office of the Society is located at Electronics Niketan, 6, CGO Complex, New Delhi-110003. A
number of counseling centers are situated in important cities in the country.

Demands for Courses in Computer Hardware

MAIT-Ernst & Young Study 2003 had estimated the computer hardware professionals required in India
to be 0.24 million during year 2003, while the computer hardware professionals required by the year 2010
is 2.4 million. Hence there is a wide gap of hardware professionals, which is required to be bridged.
Further, PCs are entering in a big way in Class B and Class C cities in Offices, Banks and Postal services
in India, apart from huge demand in the home segment thereby necessitating more and more hardware
professionals.

About Hardware Courses under DOEACC and MAIT

The conception of a new scheme under DOEACC for hardware courses is a result of the amalgamation of
experience of running the existing DOEACC Scheme in computers and of CEDTI Franchising Scheme
(CFS) of erstwhile CEDTI in hardware courses. The Scheme is being launched jointly in association with
Manufacturers Association for Information Technology (MAIT), an apex body representing IT Hardware
training, IT Design / R&D and associated services in India.
An Expert Committee under the chairmanship of Head of Department, Department of Computer
Science, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIT), Delhi representatives of leading hardware
industries such as HCL Info systems, IBM, Wipro Technologies and members from hardware training
organizations such as IIHT, Jetking led by Executive Director, MAIT has been constituted as per approval
by Hon. Ministry of Communications and Information Technology & Chairman, Governing Council,
DOEACC Society.
The DOEACC Scheme on Hardware Courses has been worked out jointly with Manufacturers
Association for Information Technology (MAIT).
